I just found out he died Friday. This man was one of the greats of Science Fiction. Not a single mention here. I recommend checking out his work, especially his collaborations with Larry Niven.

Touted as the first author to write a book on a computer. He bought his own at a price higher than the average yearly wage at the time.

NOOOO! Never trust the Moties, and remember not to over fish on Heorot. And yes, those are references for nerds that read his books.

His handwriting was scanned in from his technical journals and used to train early handwriting recognition software. He had awful penmanship

He was also the first author to write a book using a computer, instead of a typewriter.
