I can't believe I bought this. I've grown up going to car shows with my dad and so many times he would point at various beautiful classics and say, "oh I had one of these back in the day!" and it always had me wishing he saved one. Nowadays I'm the Dad, taking my son to car shows. I saw this car pop up online for sale near me, did the math, and decided if I cut out some wasteful spending I can justify this. I'm treating this as a carrot on a stick, some external motivation to take review of my daily processes and long term spending behavior patterns. I'm not rich but I am self made and able to take care of my family. Now we have something fun to putter around in and make people simile with :) I just wanted to share my excitement.

Congrats on the old Mopar! The flathead 6 is a great motor and you should just leave it alone and drive the heck out of it! Be great times and memories for you and the kids cruising in the old car! I’ve had old cars my whole life and my kids love the memories of cruising, going on holiday, and just coming into the garage to “help” me work on them.

Thanks! Yeah I’m only going to maintain it, oem+ for replacements but not mod it. I’m in New England so I’ll be tinkering in the garage over the winter. Can’t wait to cruise!

I don't mean to be that guy...but I'm gonna be that guy. Your car has a flathead inline 6. Porsche and a handful of Subarus are pretty much the only cars that use Flat 6's.
rchcopper
Yeah Porsches and Subarus are rubbish...
LariCheltsy
Yeah you should probably upgrade to a slant six

Park on a hill

Yeah that's ok, I was prepared looking into this, it runs well starts fast, barely has any leaks. Barring anything catastrophic I’ll still be able to work on it myself. I have a modified E46 BMW so I’m familiar with the pains of sourcing obscure parts.

Wait...did you Porsche swap your Plymouth or did you just typo what engine is in the car? I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing.
zitipup
Ah my bad, flathead does not equal flat eh? In that case let me edit lol. No worries bring that guy. A Porsche swap would be sick tho!
