#1 Beavers cannot tolerate the sound of running water. To them it means there's a leak and so it must be fixed immediately.

Air resistance. When you jump inside the train, the air in the car is encapsulated and moving along with you. When you jump on top of the train, the resistance from the air will slow you and make you move backward relative to the train.

#11 I have some stickers I was deciding where to put 30 years ago.

#44 I say some variation of "sorry, my brain is (insert food)". Usually it's "my brain is mashed potatoes".

Beavers block up rivers because it expands their wetland area that they are safe in. And they are VERY good at it. They will even try to block up a speaker playing the sound of trickling water to stop it.

#22 this is because inside the train the air is moving in the same direction as you, but if youre on top the air is not moving and when you jump it pushes against you slowing you down. The train isnt slowed down so you land on a point further back on the train than you started. Jumping inside the train your still landing in a different spot, it's just the same relative to the train. Your actually landing farther forward than you started in both cases. The difference is your relation to the train

#30 I'm taking a shot. 1. If you didn't have to work, what would you do with your time?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Paint and draw as much as I could! :D what about you?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If I had to guess, I'd say Yellowstone? The original tweet just mentions he took the image at a museum in the Bay Area: https://twitter.com/lsv/status/684049554266664961

#22 but I was promised that air resistance was negligible D:

Beavers seem to have forethought, they will “ring” a tree, shew all the bark off in a circle, and work down the trunk soo it falls where they want, they eat the young parts, and drag the rest off for lumber.

#13 Also the statue of Nelson in Trafalgar square is approx 16 feet tall, Nelson was 5 ft 4 inches, so that is Horatio of 3 to 1

#1 if the water is too shallow then they have an urge to build a dam in order to protect their lodge from predators like wolves or coyotes who don’t want to venture into deeper water. The beavers who didn’t feel this urge probably failed to raise kits.

That makes total sense, but is not as funny.

On the other hand, it means the "absolutely not" response is the correct answer.

#30 Question number one:

Oh holy crêpe that’s appalling. My apologies to the elders of the Internet 🙏

I've heard tell that the app cant futz with things- remove audio, only upload low-res previews instead of originals, etc. With that in mind, the Council of Greybeards has decided to not apply the death penalty... this time

#30 Question #0: can you read microscopic print?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#22 skeptical

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

As long as wind resistance and other objects are not a factor, jumping straight up when you’re on top of a moving train is the same as if you’re inside.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

which is exactly why, wind resistance will cause you to move relative to the train.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah but it’s a negligible amount. I think I saw it on an episode of mythbusters

#1 Beavers will build dams indoors, no water involved. https://youtu.be/DggHeuhpFvg

3 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

They also respond to the *sound* of running water: Play a recording of it, and they'll spend all night trying to dam it up.
