One of these days I'll be able to orbit something that isn't Kerbin or the Sun. Nice work, OP!

install mechjeb, likely the greatest tutorial in the game, and later on it'll save on tedious tasks.

I always blow them up.

That's what I used to do myself, then I installed Mechjeb and it actually taught me the game.

This game has taken over my life! Wait until you land on Mars.

I know this is a REALLY old reply, but wait until you get into the Jool System. Holy shit the things you can do there.

Nice work. I have rovers on Eve, Duna and the Mun, orbiters out at Jool. About to start work on docking maneuvers. LOVE this game.

Man docking can be rough, but the feeling you get for doing your first one is on par with your first Mun landing. Good luck!

That's an interesting path, I had docking down first, but then again I took the apollo path to the mun and that kind of needed it.

I really hate killing astronauts, so I deliberately went for unmanned. Getting a feel for controls and vehicle design was job one.

Well to each their own, but your method would work great in career mode.

How are you getting them back? Standard Apollo mission stuff or are you doing it different?

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Standard Apollo mission stuff yes. though while they're having fun on the mun I'm also moving a tanker into orbit.

Fuck. I found orbital stuff to be the hardest. Had 2/3 of a station assembled and then it lost orbit and hit the ocean.

to be clear, I'm talking about Munar orbit, I already have a station in geosynchronous orbit around kerbal :D

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I meant Kerbal orbit. Mun orbit is even harder!

are you straight going for it, or are you using mechjeb?

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine never come back, I have 1 guy orbiting the sun and a few leaving the solar system.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why I usually do unmanned missions. I feel really bad about losing guys.
