#8 Any worker at that hospital - a doctor, a nurse, a janitor, anyone - could become a hero of democracy by getting proof and sharing it to the world. Yes I'm sure they'd be breaking who knows how many laws doing it, but the public pressure to pardon them would be immense.

2 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No chance of a pardon, and its kind of stupid to argue for one. That would set a precedent to abuse or even repeal the law which would be 10x worse.

I don't know that a janitor is bound by any privacy laws, though. Maybe an NDA with the hospital.

#45 each new employee must swallow one pill from the jar, infusing themselves with the collected knowledge and strength of The Pharmacist.

2 weeks ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

One day they will run out and a new Pharmacist must be sacrificed to the fires of knowledge to replenish for the coming years.

Could take it a few directions, the ashes should come from some high up in the organization so as old members over a certain level pass on they get "saved" but now with pills running short the boss is looking to have some of his next in lines offer before it is he who must be sacrificed or a political movement the boss is on his death bed but all the replacements are jockeying to be the new #2 because this batch of pills won't last long and the new #1 is going to get sacrificed.

I have loved Nick Cave's music and stage presence for over 30 years - it's a kick in the teeth to learn he's a wholesale Zionist.

I was unaware until today that he apparently could do a fantastic Mr. Grinch impression with just some green makeup and hairspray.

Fuck!

It happened to a lot of fuckwads in a lot of genres unfortunately

Dude, I was blissfully unaware until now. 😭

I'm normally quite good at separating the artist from their art - this one is not so easy. I suppose because I'd always considered him to have a strong moral compass.

I sometimes wonder how many killers/rapists out there are activated like sleeper agents by stumbling upon weird shit like this and bam.

I'm afraid you might be right but you didn't have to say it.

#39 His interviews have endeared him to me in a way that his acting roles just couldn't.

2 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Have you seen Mickey-17? I think that's the name of it, anyway. That one was actually pretty good.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'll check it, ty.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's a genuinely fantastic actor. Twilight was such a hindrance to him. Seconding Mickey 17. It's an excellent dark comedy. I'll also say that I really like his Batman. Batman being in his really early phase of crime fighting and still figuring himself as well as how to best help Gotham is ripe for storytelling that hasn't been done to death.

It doesn't have a hyphen, my bad, but it's definitely Mickey 17. Robert Pattinson plays the main character.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So, it is I who have made a mistake. Either Imgur somehow loaded the Nick Cave picture when I moused over the image number, or I screwed up in some other way, because I thought we were talking about Nick Cave and not Robert Pattinson! Yes, the latter was definitely in the movie. I just thought, "Huh, did he have a role as an extra I forgot about or something?" Sorry about that!

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hah, no worries! My guess is Imgur "mods" (aka bots) yoinked an image so now the numbering is off. So infuriating!

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, he's the first person listed in the credits...

Ken Russell was here to make art, not tell stories. Stories came out of his art, sure, but I'd argue he's really underrated for his ability to not give a single fuck about what genre he worked in so long as he could have fun tossing some style at the wall to see if it stuck.

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You're not wrong.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They used to play the preview for this and "Mondo New York" at the 8th street playhouse before Rocky every Friday and Saturday night. I must have seen it 50x.

Good times.

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that was absolutely a movie.

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I think we peaked with that one, to be honest. You can't get more movie than that

2 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It starred Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi years before they'd be a rom-com star or Time Lord.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You mean to say that's NOT Avatar?

It's a blast! Fun for light horror nights, but definitely for adults.

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but, aside from the news, what's going on in the movie?

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I have the book ONLY because I'm a hipster and needed to have an "obscure" book by Bram Stoker... and I had no idea that it had ever been (apparently very loosely) adapted to film. Now I need to see it.
