I feel like an empty-nester parent

Last October, I noticed that a queen wasp had taken up residence in a cavity of the hinge of my EV’s charging port. I checked, and it was a native Irish wasp species, so not an invasive threat. I added some gaffer tape to keep the worst of the rain and wind off, and kept an eye on her all through the winter. The days are getting longer and temperatures are rising, so the other day, I came out to see that she had left the cavity and was preparing to depart. I pulled the tape out of the way and got one picture before she flew off into the Spring skies.
