I'm aggressively Independent. I pick and choose my votes across party lines based on both issue stances and general morality.
Over the last few years, our culture has aggressively called out and condemned organizations which have coopted Nazi symbolism and ideals. I agree with that.
However, over the same time, many people have rallied around the figures and ideals of aggressive Soviet states, states which murdered 10x as many people as the Nazis.
I don't understand why we accept this. Che Guevara murdered untold numbers of people, but it's somehow acceptable to rally behind his image.
Far right ideology has run amuck in the American political system. But that is not an excuse to ignore the horrors that far left systems have also created, specifically when people worship the horrible dictators of the far left ... which is somehow immune to any argument, since all arguments against are viewed as rampant McCarthyism.

Neither really upset me, oop.

I'd say it's ignorance more than ignoring, Che is nothing but a tshirt and few bothers to find out what he actually did

The American and British flags should be up there with Nazi flags. USA is and was definitely more evil than Che. You’re just an idiot
Crimx42
But Che is so sexy
notyourusualsaturdaynight
Fuck Che Guevera
qwertdeep
Fuck that revolutionary wanting a better life for people
qwertdeep
Does the British empire flag upset you? They literally killed millions of more innocents than Che did. Or are you trying to be edgy? ?
qwertdeep
My man cares more about Che Guevara T-Shirts than confederate flag ? I hope you know that anyone with half a brain laughs at you

This is an age where the political left embraces censorship and is happy to see big corporations in complete control of public discourse.1/2
PedestrianElectrobastard
There is no hope left. 2/2

Waving a nazi flag proclaims that, given the chance, they'd kill me and everyone I love. A Che shirt, proclaims someone's in college.

...and failing history.

So let's pretend that someone is so poorly educated that they don't know all the history behind the swastikas use by nazis and waves it-

-because their daddy told them it was symbolic of their heritage and superiority. Does that ignorance make it ok?
SoupForMyFamily
lol get outta here with your “immune to any argument.” you can be heard without being dismissed and still be disagreed with
PedestrianElectrobastard
That *can* happen, sure, but it rarely does.
Kayback
The Swastika users are more legitimate. At least they know *some* of its history. Those using Che most certainly do not.

Welcome to Imgur, where some people’s deep need to ‘both sides’ every issue is so strong they legitimize neo-nazis
Kayback
Not their beliefs but the use of their symbols. Most people know Che as that guy from the Tshirt that's a revolutionary, not a mass murderer
2674E6J
I read that as the actual Nazis KNOW what their symbols mean but the freshly-indoctrinated communist spent most of his history lessons...
2674E6J
... plotting how he was going to have sex with the girl in the cybercubicle next to him.

Pretty much what I was trying to say, thank you m
