They really think these kids dont know how magnets work. The education system is failing....itself too.

My parents gave me a phone for emergencies. Does it unlock in case of emergencies?

a new age of old people trying to enforce arbitrary rules on kids and kids almost immediately circumventing them

... its a magnetically locked pouch.. so all you have to do is go to the music room and rub the pouch on one of hte larger speakers

Or just carry a small neodymium magnet in your pocket

lmao guaranteed somebody figured out how to unlock those and spread it around in the first week. Authoritarian theater for PTA idiots.

My kid just brought a junk phone to put in the case.

They're locked magnetically. All you need is a small neodymium magnet.

If not same day it was implemented. It's no more complicated than the antitheft devices on clothes and such at stores. It's a magnet operated locking pin.

I think could be a good idea.

In a country where schools are regularly shot up, one would think that removing a child's access to emergency services and, especially, their parents in the event of an active shooter is, at best, a terrible idea.

Yeah, yeah, you don't want kids playing on their phones in class.

I don't want kids getting fucking murdered in schools, and since you guys aren't going to do anything about that, maybe let them at least call 911 and text their loved ones goodbye.

Eh, this way you don't even have to digitally remove the sound of kids screaming. Great success.

Not new. This has been happening for years

Doesn't mean it's okay

Show me where I said that it was

Which is just perfect for all the school shootings that happen in American schools. Wouldn't want their pleas for help being recorded!

It's ok guys the pouch's are bullet proof.

the staff all have phones, and gunshots contrary to movies are in fact incredibly loud. meanwhile, phones are very much a serious distraction in schools and have been for two decades, which we're visibly seeing.

[The screams of children have been removed]

The sounds of children screaming have been locked in a safety pouch for your safety

Wow, you really don't get it, do you.

I really don't get what, specifically?

Or, you know. Make school shootings disappear

But what about my right to own guns irresponsibly that my unsupervised children can take to school?! What about that!

Are you going to pay for my kids therapy?

You know that was sarcasm earlier, right?

Same, i was coming from the point of view of a parent of a would-be school shooter. I should have used quotes but I'm tired.
