I read a post recently that explained that getting AI to help you is like asking a D- student who is also a serial liar to do your schoolwork.

"Progressive Conservative Party"...

Never pretend America has the monopoly on embarassing politicians. We have so many here. Did you know Bibi flew over Canadian airspace today? We're an ICC signatory and we let that devil fly right through. Knowing Carney and his right wing sycophants, they probably welcomed Bibi and encouraged him to fly over as some perverse act of fealty.

If we were as powerful as the US, we would probably be doing almost the exact same shit they're doing right now. White supremacist settler colonies together

Run that old fuck out of office and down the fucking street until he had a heart attack!

The bad thing here is not that he used AI (using AI to rewrite things is pretty unremarkable), but that what he reads and says outloud obviously does not even register in his brain. He's regurgitating words from a paper, and does not even for one second process what he actually says.

And...he didn't have any staff members to proofread it first?

He probably fired them and replaced them with A.I.

Some would say 'Of course it's a progressive conservative.' but I bet some liberals have used AI tko

He didn’t use AI. AI used him. He literally repeated what AI told him to say, without even removing the part where AI is telling him what it’s doing. This is Donald Trump levels of incompetence.

... What's the point of adding that hypothetical, if you have no actual information about it/evidence of it? Just aggressive both-sides-ism?

shit man. soon, people will live by what the machine tells em... it'll just be easier. and easy makes for poor character. no thinking, no dreams, no destinations or wandering. we'll become an extension of the machine, not the other way around, mark my words. unless it decides to annihilate us.

His thinking is so slow he couldn't stop himself from saying what he just read. That is grade school level phoning it in.

Reminds me of the time I did a group presentation and one of the people in my group tried to get away with just reading what I had written, but he didn't know how to pronounce several of the key words in what we were presenting.

He didn't even process what he was saying. Like there wasn't a single thought going through his head, it was just reading his script. And he doesn't care who wrote the script, a llm or a corporation, this guy has probably been doing the exact same shit his entire political career.

He's a conservative, our main right-wing party. checks out that he's always been like that. Just an embarrassment that he came from new brunswick

Literally the "go fuck yourself, San Diego" bit from Anchorman. Dude didn't even realize he said it

Progressive....conservative. That's some impressive mental gymnastics.

"The real problem is... he didn't even read his own speech" See, the thing is, that's the point. They don't want it as a time-saver, they want it as a brain-saver. All the benefits with none of the effort, care, or personal formation (or accountability, if they could swing it) is the goal.

I would think 1 staffer would have read it at least

"ChatGPT, here is some sociopathic bullshit that lobbyists are paying me to vote for, rewrite it so it sounds like it benefits citizens," saves the legislators time they can use on cocaine and prostitutes

Bingo
All of the benefits , none of the effort
That goes for so-called AI "artists" as well.
They don't want to deal with, as one person told me "the tedious parts of creation", you know the actual creation .

Or in other words, an intern.

Politicians haven’t read their own speeches or even legislation for several decades. They’re figureheads who win elections, and they delegate all the messy law-making stuff to their staff.

Brain-saver. I like it.

'Progressive Conservative'

Contradictions in terms, really, sort of like a Volvo with a gun rack - you don't see many of them

They are the main right-wing party in a lot of provinces here in Canada, and was previously the name of the federal conservative party. In theory they're fiscally conservative but socially progressive. In practice, it's just a name.

Robin Williams?

Bingo

How is "Volvo with a gun rack" a contradiction? Considering how many Toyota's with gun racks there are....

Old Robin Williams bit

Ah, I see.
But god damn it, now I want a Volvo Hilux.
