At first I thought this about Skyrim, but then I realized NO ONE goes that long without playing Skyrim!

(this is a joke, I do not care how long it's been since you played Skyrim)

Too little, too late, motherfucker.

Picture it, April 2012. The glow of my monitor casts shadows that dance on the wall, not unlike Whiterun at dawn as first light hits the throat of the world. As I truged through drauger infested crypts, I found a barrel, full of ancient sweetrolls. A thought occurs, just what's in these things? They're not even stale. It turns out, the secret is in the frosting. For this recipe you'll need...

Have you tried Satisfactory by chance?

I have, it is not at all

I've heard Factorio is way more autistic than Satisfactory. I've been explicitly instructed to avoid it.

(For my own health and sanity. Because I'd get into a hole I wouldn't be able to get out of.)

I played SF a bunch of times through pre-release and at release, and I can't see myself ever coming back to it now because it's just not pleasant to play. It's fine on the small scale, but as you go through the game it breaks down in the core gameplay of building a big factory. Even the "it's 3D!" part breaks a bit as most of the time you start by building a nice 2D foundation to sanitize things.

It's "2D but with nice scenery". Also you can build floors, so there's your 3D for you. The non-flat thing is just so that you enjoy the views. (Also, building long-ass conveyor belts that cut through super irregular jungles and mountains from the mine to the factory is kinda fun.)

I couldn’t disagree more. I love creating vertical factories and snaking belts into a spaghetti ball and then rebuilding it all into some sense of order.

I love to build transport pipes that accelerate my character to ridiculous speed and zip around map or shoot myself another side of planet in seconds :D
