I repair TVs. We call that type of damage by how our customers describe it. "I dont know how that happened" or "It just started doing that".

For some manufacturers, they never replace panels. If it's within the factory warranty, Sony, Samsung and LG will okay the repair. 3rd -

- party protection plans never cover damage like this, but if the panel is defective, it's usually more economical to swap TVs.

I once made us of Samsungs 0 dead-pizel promise and I'm 99% they just swapped the panel.
