Not a very gleeful message. But as he says, there is a new struggle coming and we need to stick together and coordinate. Stay Tuned.

Without the vote, change will have to come through either mass civil, or uncivil actions. Democracy lost the judiciary, legislature, and the executive branch. Trump's statement that "in 4 years we'll have it fixed so you don't have to (vote)" was spoken as someone who had been told that (and probably NOT been told not to say it out loud.) Whether they 25th him out of office due to brain damage or not, the people who wanted him to take office in order for THEM to wield power will still be there.

Bernie, as a memeber of the legislature, of all people, should know the obstacles real change face when you can't push legislation through because of either a minorty in the house or the filibuster in the senate. The Biden administration did not abdicate their duty to the American working class with the limited power the executive branch holds. Biden attempted some wonderful things such as mediation of railroad labor negotiations and tried to reprieve student debt.

Thanks Bernie. "Power concedes nothing without a demand, it never has and it never will."(Fredrick Douglas) That being said there is a good tool: "Agitate, Educate, Organize!"

I mean…I get the sentiment and it may even be correct but let’s be clear, it’s not like Trump won based on ideas, policies, and plans…

Hey look, it's that smart guy who should have been nominated in 2016 and might have prevented all of Trumpism saying smart things again!

You’re not wrong. I knew several Latinos that would have voted for him in 16 but voted for trump instead. They should have run him this time.

Bernie is a nice guy but he's clueless. The only thing he's right about is the ineptness of the Democratic Party. But his solutions would just increase the scale of the defeat.

Spoken like a DNC shill

i dont want to sound like a broken record, but Bernie would have won.

We wouldn’t be having this problem if he ran in 2016

Should have, yes. Would have, dunno.

back in 2016 he beat trump by double digits in almost every poll

I dont agree with everything Bernie says, but this letter is on target.

The letter is on target, the question is whether the target audience would read that or be swayed by emotive arguments ("it's communism/socialism/unAmerican") to vote for an alternative. And if they did vote for Bernie, I'm not convinced that the wider Democratic party would support the changes Bernie would need to make to deliver on his promises.

Not a chance. No one who is labeled "socialist"... which the Repugnican machine would non-stop translate to "communist"... is going to get elected in the general election.

That was long before any actual general election campaign started. You're not facing the reality that is the USA. Even Kamala, who is obviously more centrist that Bernie, could not win. What makes you think any left-wing candidate is going to pull the votes to win? You can't win with just the left in this country.

you have to do what obama did - convice the vast numbers of people who dont vote, who feel disenfranchised entirely by both parties - to come out and vote for you.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

and you cant do that when you are a huge, visible part of one of the parties that you feel have disenfranchised you, such as oh i dont know BEING THE GODDAMN VICE PRESIDENT.
