Since 2002. No one from either party has deemed it necessary to replace her, and this would skew the FEC republican. This is right up there with trump purging the military and forcing them to pledge loyalty to him. My fellow Americans, we're losing this country.

Not sure why everyone is saying he can't do this. Commissioners terms are 6 years, they can server longer if not replaced. Her 6 years is up so she can be replaced by any sitting president. Those are just the rules. We can hate the he is doing it but that is the reality. That said he has to select a nominee to actually fire her but I am sure that is in the works.

Your use of tense is inaccurate. Lost. Not 'losing.' They've put in place everything they need to make this work for them and make it permanent. (Well, as permanent as any other political construct.) If you disagree, please be specific about exactly what measures are left viable to return us to a reasonable level of democracy. I cannot find one short of a revolution. Happy to look at concrete options. "Fight" "Don't give up" are meaningless platitudes.

The President does not have the authority to fire anyone who isn't directly employed under the Office of the President, nor is it constitutional to demand the military pledge allegiance to him (there's a reason the military and elected officials pledge to "uphold the Constitution of the United States...)

Like, he can demand all he wants that her boss fire her, like the world's pettiest and most powerful Karen, but that should be about it and unless the boss works directly for the President it's up to them whether to obey.

He fired over a dozen inspector generals, a move that is expressly forbidden in the law. Not a matter of "questionable", it's flatly illegal. One IG came to work anyway, because he didn't have the power to fire her. Trump send federal marshals to remove her from the building.

He doesn't. He's testing the checks and balances of our government by breaking the rules and laws. It's up to the other branches to hold him accountable and in check. So far the legislative branch is refusing to do anything about it. Some of judiciary are trying but he's ignoring them and they operate slowly, plus it'll ultimately land at the SCOTUS and they'll either rule in his favor (he can do anything and not be held accountable after all) or refuse to hear it.

The office of the president has certain controls, but they aren't there to own the function of government. Nothing you see in the news right now should be happening.
We have a history of career bureaucrats, largely unbothered by politics, who keep doing the work. From one administration to another, they keep it all working. The damage right now is intentional.

There is one huge caveat: The US constitution has a concept of inferior officers, who can be fired by the president at will. In the past the US supreme court ruled the head of the consumer protection bureau was and could therefore be fired by the president:
