Your ninth grade science class made you cross-pollinate and grow thousands of pea plants, and you then observed uncorrelated ratios of resulting traits even though modern experiments and DNA sequencing show that some of those traits should be correlated? Your school was way more botany-oriented than mine was. Did y’all publish your findings?

The question is "how was science done at the time?" . You do the experiment and from the results you develop a theory, so you present the results that allowed to build the theory. Maybe it was done that way and maybe they were not giving all the data, including the experiment problems, the bad result that could come from accidents or things that you don't understand. I don't see how his experiments cannot be replicated, crossing plants together to obtain flowers is something done for centuries.

His experiments can’t be replicated in the sense that if you do them as he described, you won’t get the results he did. To my mind most damningly, some genes are linked because they’re physically close together on a DNA strand: if you breed pea plants, you should see a correlation between them.
