Members on the MIG Welding Forum claimed the welds are ugly but structurally sound and its an easy way to tell if the car has been crashed as the welding will be much better after repairs.

In theory yes, but in that case they’ve melted away the structure of the metal pieces that they’re trying to weld (burn-through), so if structural integrity is important, all of the pieces involved should be re-made.

A business owners job is to exploit the skills of the worker, not improve those skills. They don't own the workers, so the investment in them is seen as a waste.
only if you're an idiot business owner.. even if you're a shitty person.. training up lower paid guys is generally cheaper in the long run because the increase in wages to as they become a higher tier welder is cheaper than hiring someone who is already at that tier.. that's the exploitatin you're looking for
