City birding from my Window: The kestrel situation

I was sitting in my flat browsing the internet when a blackbird in the small park outside suddenly started making loud alarm calls. A great tit quickly joined in. Naturally, that got my attention, so I went to the window to investigate.

The reason became obvious immediately: a kestrel perched on the roof, clearly the source of their distress.

No wonder the great tit wasn’t amused: the kestrel was hanging out right above the nest entrance.

Caterpillar delivered ... take off to get another one ...

Cleaning mostly done .. ruffling the feathers.
