I spend a lot of time alone.
A lot of people call me only when they need something out of me (watch their dog, their house, their kid. Maybe need a ride.)
Others only want to hang out to vent to me about their tragic relationships.
Basically talk AT me.
A handful only hang out and do coke (ive been recovered for almost 4 years).
And the rest just want to go to the same bar, with the same people, having the same conversations.
So I spend a lot of time alone.
Doomscrolling, reading, driving through new places and exploring new sights.
But fuck man sometimes I just want a friend.
At least I have a ride or die. This is KoBe, and he goes everywhere with me.
And fuck a relationship.
Ive been physically attacked my every woman ive had a relationship with.
The men ive met have anger problems or only see me as a fetish.
I havent dated anyone since I transitioned.
So I treat myself with love. Cook for me, take myself out.
But fuck im tired of being alone.
Ok thanks for wasting your time reading this. Have a good night. =^.^=

famtifa
I’m in the same boat, friend. I have a feeling there are a lot of us. I am no contact with almost everyone I have ever known because fuck them.
PrincessWasabi
Try volunteering, Youll make friends who all like helping others! And you will find love !!
TheYodajen
I hear you. I am afraid of getting to know people in general so I tend to stay away from them. I miss having a friend to do stuff. I'm sorry you ste going through what you are going through https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1eXUyam1uMHFrZmNlY3lvOWxiYW54ZnF1dGtzcncybWtodnp2dnAxeCZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/7Wcyq7KvKFNTO/200w.webp

Could it also be that you're depressed and not bringing a lot of sharing/vulnerability to the table? That happens. You aren't in the mood to share so people fill the silence talking about their lives. If it were one or two people, they are self absorbed. If it is everyone, you might be in a funk that's making reaching out and forming connections by sharing your life difficult.

I'm horrible at meeting people, but I learned that engaging in regularly-scheduled, structured group activities were the easiest way to mix it up with other humans.
Volunteer activity, a night class, learning a new skill, musical ensemble of any kind, adult ed classes at the local JC, all offered opportunities to both do something I felt good about in terms of self-improvement, & working together with like-minded others to achieve shared goals. You can interact as much or as little as you want.

I meet people all the time at kickball.

The last few years have seen me cut off almost everyone I've ever known. They turned out to be monsters hiding in human skin, especially family.
There are still good people out there, but they're just as timid and scared as I am. The thing that's worked for me is giving myself permission to fail before I start. I'm going to reach out and give this person a try, and if I'm wrong, I can stop putting in energy. I can tell them no. I don't owe them anything. I come first and I deserve to feel safe.
DickMcStiffens
I pretty much have only 1 friend. My friends from my past have all passed away. Even though I have kids and may occasionally interact with other adults I cannot be bothered to make friends. People are flakey and only hang out with you when they don't have anyone else better to hang out with. I'm tired of chasing people for hangouts and no reciprocation. I have my family, pets and video games.
komradekristoph
Oh my god, I can relate to your situation on so many levels.
It's crap we're going through this shit!
I hope things get better for you, drop me a message if you'd like someone to talk to 🙏

Find a club, volunteer somewhere, do both at a library
WhiskyBravo
I feel this. There are exactly 2 people in the world who want to talk to me, everyone else "needs" something. It's funny how I have lost all my "friends" when I stopped fixing their computers or helping them move stuff.
Lylani
For me, it was when my car was "broken" for a while. Suddenly, nobody called me anymore. Even my mother.
Losing that stress has been great. But learning who actually wants to spend time with me has not been. Cause it's a very small number.
WhiskyBravo
A friend of mine (since passed away) once told me "good friends are kind of like buttholes. one is plenty. too many others and they just become random holes"

I promise you this:
Your phone addiction will guarantee nothing changes.
I'm not saying you're not already aware (perhaps you are and are just working through the addiction of scrolling) but this needs to said --- especially on a neurologically-unhealthy app called Imgur.
Try walking outside or jogging in nature; but never with your cell. It's liberating.

Hey man, I used to be there. Every single person in my life was using me, just like what is happening to you. I was everyone's friend when they wanted something, but when I tried to start a conversation? Nothing. I eventually left the country and cut all ties with everyone in my life. I made new friends, and I was picky about the people I associated with. I'm much happier now.
maas2908
Idk if this helps but a while ago a friend of mine told me to try internet dating and clued me into that the initial online conversation's point isn't to wow anyone, it's just to check that the other person is safe and normal. Internet dating sites are kind of terrible but there's other people on the other side. Also use the biggest most heavily populated dating sites, small ones aren't worth the time.
It's also the number one way people get married these days.
TerribleBot
Bro, it's time to travel and discover the world.
xbeaker1
Find a game group. In my experience it is an extremely friendly, inviting and accepting group. It is a great way to meet new people in a safe environment. Most game stores will have open game nights. Go by yourself a few times and just ask to sit in on any game that looks interesting. If you don't know the game, that is usually perfectly ok. People are there to meet new people and share gaming. They will be more than happy to teach or will politely tell you if there is some reason you can't.
choppedliveraldente
I hate hearing the stupid shit that comes out of people's primary stink hole. They say stuff that's almost as bad as the stupid shit I say.
Tankmoose
I recently came to the realization after rewatching it that seeing The Fellowship of the Ring at a young age gave me a poor understanding for what a friend was. Unconsciously, I've been thinking this whole time "if you're not the Sam to my Frodo, then what are we even doing?"
The realization didn't fix anything. I'm still a lonely divorced loser. But idk, it sounded profound at the time.
Aranon1183
I also am in the same boat. The last friend I had, I cut ties with immediately after he became a cop. I'd rather be alone, than be associated with a cop.
kitenkatt
Acab all day everyday.
Aranon1183
You know what he majored in? Hospitality! The polar opposite of being a cop!

As a fellow lonely trans woman, I feel this shit so hard

Move or travel if you can. You can't run away from yourself, of course, but changing the environment helps.
Ebo352
I had some close gamer friends a while back; met every weekend for years to game, went to conventions, parties...so much fun. Then I said I needed to host at my place more, as I'd travel 90% of the time, and was a lot of travel. Within a few months, we were no longer friends.
Always amazing to me how brittle relationships are.
ThatOtherGirlYouKnow
D&D night at your FLGS?
xbeaker1
Basically said the same thing. Except for gaming in general. D&D can be intimidating for some if you have never played before, especially with a group of strangers. But board games are another great way to meet new people if RPGs aren't your thing or you are intimidated by them.
kitenkatt
I'd have to check it out, and see if there's an open game in my schedule. Not a bad idea =)
ThatOtherGirlYouKnow
Great ideas and perfect tits, my burden. 😉
kitenkatt
I admire your sacrifice ✨️
Teganrose1
If there isn’t a game in your area, online dnd is always an option. Lots of discord servers for that
isthisjunkmail
I feel that. The burden of being upright. I’m a lil boozy right now, but I hear you loud and clear.
kitenkatt
Thats a really profound way to describe it.
isthisjunkmail
Old man here. Life is best discovered in the little things. Put yourself in the way of beauty. Write down something that brings you joy every day. Review your notes.
kitenkatt
Ill do that, I have the perfect notebook for it.

Come play team fortress 2 lots of LGBT community and its fun game, can voice chat while playing.
kitenkatt
I dont have a gaming system or pc unfortunately
KaptainObveeus
If you can get your hands on any cheap old pc or laptop it could be enough. It's an 18 year old game, you can run it on a potato, but if that's not for you take care and goof luck :)
Totallyscrewedinaustin
Might be worth it to try and find a different group of people to hang out with? Like, take up basketweaving or something totally different as a hobby and see what happens? I'm sorry that you've been going through it, shit is rough out there!
dripstone
easier said than done. Not everyone is social so they get suck in a rut of what they have.

I know everyone in this town, which is why I travel elsewhere to meet new people. Im gonna start going to a climbing gym, and find writing workshops. This town felt so big but now I feel cramped.
Xop110
My situation is much different but I started going to a climbing gym for similar reasons. The climbing community is amazing and everyone is so nice! 100% recommend
FryingDutchman1969
Sometimes a move (just jump ship) will give new perspectives.
I did and I reinvented myself and got to know what was important and what not. Later went back to the old town but was glad I went away for a while.
prosper020
College ramped up my anxiety to insane levels and I spent a year or two drinking about it, did rehab, and then the town I grew up in just felt bad. Going with the whims of a partner at the time, I moved 200 miles away to an island without cars but full of horses. It was an insane thing to do. Professionals told me it was a death trap for me. It was hard as hell to pull off. It was probably the best thing I could have done for myself at that time. It lead to me learning me much better.
prosper020
Do the sudden moving new start thing if you can. Though, I suggest following yourself more than I did. My partner dumped me a week after I moved in with them on said island. We are still good friends to this day, but damn was that part rough.
kitenkatt
I already moved 1000 miles away and while I am safe, I am also bored.

Hopefully having a bit of a vent here (talking "at" us if you will) makes you feel a bit better. A problem shared is a problem halved. You've got this @OP! https://media4.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1dnowaXk2bGE0dHQ0ZXh4Zzh3dzZja2xkdjN5NzFwZGt2ZHYyOG5iMiZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/W5ZUxqXT1lmiysXsDE/200w.webp

Basically lol. I just had to put it out there i guess. Ironic...

Writing it down on a scrap of paper or a journal may also work? I think the main thing is getting the shit out of your head but I'm glad you came here and chose us instead. Save the trees - chat online 🤣 https://media1.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1OGhkZWU1cTlqMXFuYjJ0bmFxYXkwNDJjc2lwN3A5MDZwMGdscW5iOSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3RyZW5kaW5nJmN0PWc/R6gvnAxj2ISzJdbA63/200w.webp
