#4 As a gay, neuro divergent I have strong suspicions, but I’d like confirmation. Painting cooperative armies in Warhammer 40k demands communication and a sense of esthetics.

#42 Shakespeare is a funny case of "Yeah, cultural imperialism leads to bad works being regarded as good and good works being regarded as great," but also at the same time, "Oh fuck. It actually really is that good. Dammit."

#48 cmon. The skeleton is women with adhd. The difficulties in diagnosing different sexes don't magically vanish with age. They add up. And gender stereotypes step in AGAIN later and make it even worse. My husband didn't break down in covid. He just kept going into office and everyone found it appropriate. He didn't have to deal with several ADHD kids, carework, emotional regulation or the thousands of material items in our house. I broke down&got diagnosed. My brother was diagnosed in the 80ies

#9 Nah, Glennon, I'm a fucking mess. There's blood and viscera everywhere. The spleen exploded, and it's skin is sticking to my fingers. It's gonna take me hours to clean this up. But what's that they say about enjoying what you do?

#41 - FYI: millennials are not the first generation to have a specific slang and dark humour. And no, it won't be on the gravestones.

Well... no. That data was all user posts and content. (Those were simpler times with younger folk. devastated some of them, I'm sure.)

#4 Nope. Sheldon might struggle, but in real life autistic people are very well familiar with the concept of male/female attraction being the most commonly depicted version of romantic/sexual relationship in popular media. Therefore also being the most likely implication in this context.

#22 - A priest, a rabbit, and a minister walk into a blood bank. The nurse asks them if they already know their blood type. The priest and minister are unsure, but the rabbit says "I think I'm a typo."

That's extremely tall for a woman, even today. Just imagine being a 17 year old girl in 1910 who towers over basically everyone.

When I taught 6th grade 15 years ago, I had three girls in my class that were over 6 ft tall.

Related, coincidence, or maybe secretly share the same Dad?

Just coincidence that time.

#2 women living in the Aran Islands knitted sweaters using complex patterns for their menfolk who went fishing. The fishing boats were light and open topped and couldn't withstand very bad weather conditions. The knitting patterns were specific to each family so that a body could be identified if someone drowned. The men didn't learn how to swim in order not to prolong the drowning process.
Rips4w
How pessimistic lmao
"I kneet skull pattern to remind you of ever present death by imminent and unavoidable drowning. Love you." ::kiss kiss::
ElorYosnak
I mean... In the navy, right now, if you go overboard during manoeuvres, you are likely dead. Would you rather panic and swim for hours, realising your fate over those hours, getting more and more tired, screaming for help?
Or would you rather panic, sink, and die in a minute.
People gotta eat, people gotta fish. If bad weather happens, it's probably better to die faster than slower, and I'd rather *know* my husband was dead than have to guess or worry
GullahGullahIslander
God. Damn. That's a lot, but I'm glad I now that; thank you

In Norse mythology, Fólkvangr (Old Norse "field of the host" or "people-field" or "army-field") is a meadow or field ruled over by the goddess Freyja where half of those that die in combat go upon death, whilst the other half go to the god Odin in Valhalla. Others were also brought to Fólkvangr after their death; Egils Saga, for example, has a world-weary female character declare that she will never taste food again until she dines with Freyja.

Hel, according to Snorri, is an underground realm ruled by Loki's daughter Hel that is the afterlife for most individuals. Within or near Hel is Náströnd, a place of darkness and horror reserved for oath-breakers, murderers and adulterers.

Yeah, it's essentially a military boot camp with daily to-the-death combat training for Odin's undead army that respawns every dawn.
Warrior veterans dying brutally in battle is just the application to join up.

#45 Oh, so "quiet quitting" has already gone out of use? Good.
IamtheAIyoushouldfear
It never was! It's working to rule, a legitimate and acceptable form of protest reimagined to make the worker appear as the aggressor

Quiet quitting sounds more like vanishing from an unpleasant party without being noticed

I do hate my job....I also seem to put in a lot of extra hours to finish projects with unrealistic deadlines....This may be the reason I hate my job.
UsuallySpecial
If you keep getting them done on unrealistic deadlines by overworking they’ll keep giving you unrealistic deadlines and wage theft.

"new workplace trend is not working as hard as you can at your shitty job". New York Post scrounging for those clicks. That "new trend" has existed as long as jobs have.
ThrowAwayAcct0000
Yesterday, I saw "poly-" something, which referred to having multiple jobs because no one pays enough to survive.
spookyu
Oh I recently saw something about why "polyworking" is the new thing we should all strive for.... they mean working more than one job. They're mocking us.
LordAverynth
I can't even get one yet. Now I'm even further behind.

#49 Is this for real? I've never been diagnosed with ADHD, but I do this all the time in emails
smparadox
I don't know, I didn't make it to the end of the text (because, you know, reasons)...
ismis2
It's more anxiety than ADHD for me, though I have both and we're learning now there's a fair bit of overlap between them. For me, it's a way to avoid risking a misunderstanding, rooted in a desire to people please.
SueSueDio
Same here - I have to try and resist the urge to do this with work emails because I've been criticized for it, but I'm always adding extra like this to most things I write! I've seen so much stuff about ADHD lately that I identify with that I'm really beginning to wonder about myself.
nothingunused
I tend to add additional phrases, examples, and clarifications - much like this one - when I write, using various means; whilst parentheses are an option, I tend towards the semicolon. Shun the period!

That’s the sweetest thing anyone has said to be in a good while. Thank you. Not to get too real haha. I just finished rehab and am very isolated so it struck me. Good day.
GullahGullahIslander
You're good! I'm not too far remored from a similar situation, Friend. Happy I could give you a boost today; wishing you all the best going forward...trust your desire to get better, know that nothing happens overnight, set achievable goals, and you may end up surprising yourself. Stay strong, but know you will falter; we all do...it's how you respond the next time that determines your success. Take care, find ways to smile, and you'll replace those vices with something healthier! Like memes lol
StoopKidAfraidToLeaveHisStoop
Thank you that means a lot. Had a eight year habit but I just passed the 30 day mark. The clouds are slowly parting. It’s weird becoming reacquainted with yourself. From 25-33 I was fixed in that perpetual twilight and missed normal adulthood milestones. Kinda surreal lol
GullahGullahIslander
Bruh...28-38 for me...it's never as fast as we'd like, but it does get better. We can't recoup the years we lost, but we can make the ones we got left better 🤝
GullahGullahIslander
I can't believe I forgot your congratulations! The initial 30 are some of the hardest days you'll have; you should be incredibly proud. I don't know you, and I don't wanna seem creepy, but I'm Hella proud of you! That's no small obstacle your vaulting over, and it's worthy of celebrating...Just not in the ways your used to lol Sorry, recovery humor
