near the east end of the strip

never ending change of business ownership

end of the old turnpike, the tunnel is about 1.5 miles away

barely 0.7 mile (1 km) start to finish.

Need to make my way back to the abandoned turnpike one of these days. did a camping trip in Shawnee State Park and spent a few hours one of the days checking out the first bit of it. only got to about the first tunnel, then one of the people we were with got too creeped out to continue. plus a thunderstorm hit right about then anyway and we had to bail.

The Lincoln highway was one the first transcontinental roads in the U.S. Started in Times Square NYC and ended in San Francisco.

That's the most "how did I end up here" interchange ever. I've been through that countless times in my travels...

It's nearly impossible to avoid. There are no other practical options.

correction, In pic 12, the closed building in front was the old Sheetz store. They moved to the new store. The hotel in back is a Holiday Inn open from 2000.
