probably common in turned-around papers, developed an experiment to prove a hypothesis, data showed hypothesis is totally wrong, now they had to somehow salvage it without looking like a complete idiot...

#28 a theory has been proven, so.. yes, he was real.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

#35 no, no it’s not. I don’t understand why the original video became so stolen. It’s good stuff, but it was like a fad for people to act it out with the audio pasted over and then claim it was the original. Stealing the stolen valor by claiming the credit for finding something that is falsely claiming credit for being the original. It’s like someone filming an Elvis impersonator, then a different person reuploading said video just to claim someone else met the real Elvis.

#44 I assume it likely started because very few things are naturally lime green, so it stands out prominently from any other scene assets. Its why greenscreens are also the usual choice for CGI work that incorporates real footage - its much easier to separate the actor and place them into the scene you want them in when the original background doesn't match any part of their outfit or appearance.

#2 I've run into that problem when I started losing weight. Hell, now I don't even have to undo my pants to take them off.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

time to buy new belts...like, they come in different lengths, so pick one that fits so that you can properly stick the end through the loops on your pants...guy in the video has a way too long belt...or too short, but by the whole pattern this one is designed to be worn short, so its too long...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has no one here heard of belt loops? And in an emergency a black hair tie can do the job

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#4 if I get an EV it's going to mutter like Foul Old Ron as I pootle round carparks. Or possibly howl like a tie-fighter.

1 year ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

More like the Nigel Planer audio book Ron, but that's the general idea.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So like "bugritbugritbugrit" as you're driving along, and honking makes it shout "millennium hand and shrimp!"?

I tole em. I tole them. See if I don't.

TEETH! I'll give 'em the wrong end of the ragman's trumpet....

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's actually my biggest issue with a lot of the earlier EVs. (And some of the newer ones). I don't trust quiet machines. Computers should hum with fans. Cars should rumble. Phones should chirp and click. If I can't hear it working, how do I know if something stops working?

#44 primary colors are Good™ and secondary colors are Evil®

Orange flames, purple poison, green acid. Bad.

Blue virtue, yellow hope, red courage. Good.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But the primary colours are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow for paint and Red, Green, Blue for light...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, and purple isn't real, I have a working relationship with light and color theory. But in terms of cartoon villains, thems the rules.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Purple is as real as any other colour. Colours are what you brain assigns to specific responses from your cone cells. Most of them can be created in multiple ways.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What doesn't exist is a single wavelength of light that humans will perceive as purple. That doesn't make it less real.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your next message proves you understand my point, you're just being pedantic. Purple light does not exist. It's always some combination of red and blue. green, red, blue, cyan, yellow, orange; they all exist as a specific wavelength of light. You can pick them on a spectrum. You cannot do that with purple. It's a figment of your imagination. Yes, the brain does this with other colors, but it doesn't *have* to like it does with purple.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are missing my point. The wavelength of light isn't a colour. All colors are figments of your imagination. Your brain is guessing at all kinds of things and using that to create what you perceive, there's lots of optical illusions that can make you see colours where there are none. Purple and red are equally real perceptions of the world.
