I went out to play Commander at my local card shop tonight and had a really good time. The guys I played with were really nice and I am really proud of how my decks actually over performed! And the bad stuff that I was so worked up about in therapy didn't happen (mostly)! I will definitely be more confident next time, there was one player who kinda misgendered me a few times but I was so focused on figuring out my cards and it didn't bother me as much. I was in a tank top that definitely didn't hide my assets and the other guy who was next to me was using the right ones (she/her) so that made it feel fine. Next time I will speak up. I was just so worried about being visibly trans in such a masc space but I went and was myself, dressed in an outfit I was comfortable in, and spent $11 on a sandwich. And I got to play some of my favorite cards. And I will be better prepared for my kid next time and can try and pack us food so we have better options and can try to expand his entertainment choices. And maybe take him out to the park beforehand so he can get his cardio in. But I think he could see how important it was for me and how much fun his mom had and I will definitely be better for it. So the more we go the more he will get used to being there and we will find a good groove. I have to meet my needs too, and mom needs to play cards. It's kinda her thing.

BIG GRATS! it's always amazing to see people having therapy work for them. Mine was a total life changer, I'm so pissed I waited until I was freaking 40, feel like I wasted so much of my life in depression. Keep it up, and keep being amazing!

Respect OP! I am unsecure too but can't imagine how I would cope with it if Inwas in your situation. Really much respect! Consider yourself as a pioneer for social development. Some day nearly all people will accept it.

Thank you! <3 I was really proud of myself going down there and not knowing anyone and just focusing on the goal of playing the game. It was very liberating and validating to actually participate in my hobby!
