The floor was so gross! First step was so get rid of the seats and a *huge* amount of wheelchair track.
Angle grinding out floor track for days- it went all the way through he bus.
Skylar loves the bus shade and also resembles bus.
Skylar lovessss bus life. She was previously stuck in a dc condo for most of the day but now she gets to go outside (almost) whenever she wants!
We removed the bus lift but kept the giant door. Gonna put a dinette in front of it. Great view and breeze.
Spray foam insulation is a huge mess and requires a lot of safety equipment but it’s nice to be warm.
Skylar yields her bed to the cat sometimes.
Beginning of our bed/bathroom build. We only pee in the toilet at this point...
Beginning of our couch build complete w storage underneath.
We removed and patched over the existing vents and emergency exits on our roof as they leaked/were basically bug colonies.
Wood stoves are so cool. We love this thing. We built the box, cut+polished granite we found on Craigslist, tiled, etc... despite having no prior knowledge of these things I think it turned out okay! Still gotta grout and touch up some rough edges but it burns super well.
5” square cast iron for cooking eggs and whatnot! Haven’t actually tried these yet but conceptually they are awesome anyway.
Prepping for solar install! We’ve got a lot to do.

Does the bus still run?
neuronmisfires
Yeah we drove from OH to TX already! She has less than 40k diesel miles. We brought it into a bus depot and had it fixed up a bit.

Check back in around 2020 or so ;)

Will do! I've thought about doing something like this. Do you have an estimated final cost range?
neuronmisfires
We have an insanely complicated spreadsheet. Finally cost will prob be about 25k-30k. You could do something basic for much much cheaper tho
