"Earth didn't need a Superman, just a brave one." Superman at Dan Turpin's grave, from Superman TAS. Turpin was murdered by Darkseid during the latter's invasion of Earth, largely to spite Superman. Turpin was modelled on Jack Kirby, creator of the New Gods and King of Comics.

One of my favourite little moments from Justice League. The League catches Dr Fate and Aquaman seemingly torturing Grundy, and Fate banishes the group in pairs while he can finish work on a spell. Superman and Grundy get paired off, Superman wins. He returns to face a victorious Aquaman, and this is their fight. Superman's sigh is what sells it to me.

A more recent cartoon entry: My Adventures of Superman, with a 3rd season forthcoming. I also enjoy it a lot, their take on Clark, Lois and Jimmy. And Clark is voiced by Bradward Boimler's own Jack Quaid

I look forward to the next take on Supergirl as well!

No more evil Supermen. That's the rule going forward. Too many see characters like Homelander and miss the point.
