I'm not saying I could have done that at 19, but 19 would have been the best time to do it, I was in my physical prime range.

The Pitlane penalties were disgusting. Completely Killed the race. It's obvious that they were wrong and it made Gasly lose a podium and ruined Russel's day. Nobody should be penalized when they did nothing wrong.

Kimi did amazing, but this car being 3 seconds slower than the 2025 one with near perfect track conditions... These new cars are meh. Not going the right direction.

Lower downforce can make the racing better at the expense of lap time, but reducing power is certainly the wrong direction. Former Indycar driver JR Hildebrand made this concept for a car he'd love to see in F1 or Indycar, a very high-power, low-downforce formula is the way he thinks they should go. https://blackbird66.com/

Pinnacle of Motorsport my arse. Tiny engine and battery. They should relax the rules and let teams use whatever engines they want. Bring back 4 wheels strapped to a huge engine times.

Former Indycar driver JR Hildebrand has a concept for an open-wheel car that he would love to see in F1 or Indycar. Even if it were a spec series, having a field full of those would be amazing.

Soon as they banned the turbine engines I lost interest. I just want the spectacular accidents highlight reels.

I’m a bit surprised at how low the rpms are. I remember when f1 cars were absolute shriekers.

Not any more. Tiny petrol engine and electric engine in 50:50 distribution.

Yeah, I know. But fuck, the old three liter v12 Ferraris sounded amazing.

They need to remove Monaco from the race rotation. With nearly no passing opportunities, it’s boring. Whatever the order is after the first lap is most likely how it’s going to finish, minus mechanical failures.

Booooooring

The qualifications are much more interesting than the race itself.

I’ll trade you Monaco for two Emirates and a Saudi. Deal???

It's a parade

plus almost no run-off areas

Small margins of error are a big selling point for street circuits in general though, it's nice to have those as a contrast to the purpose-built road courses that have acres of runoff.

Monaco isnt about the racing, its about the rich persons playground

Yeah, I know it’s now about tradition and what you wrote and it is cool seeing them race thru those old streets. Maybe an off season race in rally cars or go carts, something where there’d be lead changes

i hear you, but F1 is so full of money & rich people. And as you said its 'tradition' of it, the pageantry of it all, which is so more important to the yacht owning class than the race itself. Monaco will always be on the schedule as long as F1 is a sport.
