There is a resemblence

I've had professional dancers describe their job as having competitive sex except there's no pregnancy. We just witnessed two people at an orgy

This is a Jack&Jill west coast swing competition. Great videos on YouTube.
WCS is known for lots of improvisation.
I highly recommend learning it if you have classes in your area. Typically people can sign up on their own as partners are switched every few minutes.

welp, there goes the rest of my day watching these.

So, you're saying they're Swingers, eh?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So it's dancing jazz?

Yellow shirt helps

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

Indeed! The female helped. Not the best vid to show how absolutely perfect two strangers can do this together. Still super fun and beautiful.

She's supposed to, I was always told in westie that the lead is supposed to make the woman look good, and women are supposed to use the time to strut their stuff

Exactly. This is especially true with salsa and bachata. (me and my wife's been dancing for about 15 years now). She's the great one of us two, though

"random." Just like how a stage magician will choose a "random" person from the audience.

Random but it’s at a dance tournament so they all have formal training or are instructors themselves.

Ah dance. A vertical expression of a horizontal desire

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does that mean the whole dance is adlibed?

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yep. Those people have done each move a hundred times with a hundred different partners with a hundred small unique variations. But there was no specific pre planning beyond being very comfortable with the expected moves and styles. They certainly couldn’t do it exactly the same twice.

That is nothing short of amazing!

If this is competition S tier, I got to like B grade in blues dance in my community. Even going 50 miles south I had trouble meshing with a different style and culture in a new scene. These people (instructors and such) often go to tango, Lindy, fusion, west/east coast styles all in one weekend, then go to another town and do it again. It all comes down to bodily communication and experience to keep up with one another. Often the lead may signal a movement, but the follow decides how to do it.

Does anyone happen to know the name of the song playing?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

best fun you can have with your clothes on... and people applaud.

2 years ago | Likes 307 Dislikes 2

The sex these people have must be incredible

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Youre mistaking dancing with drugs

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Raves give you both.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The vertical expression of a horizontal desire.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I thought that was lying?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

people tend to applaud when I stay fully clothed

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gosh, It was such a fun time when I was into it (long time ago). Really helped with that shyness

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sexy as fuck

I'll bet they knew each other anyway. Seems like this would be a small demographic that probably all know each other at this level. I'm not saying it isn't good, it sure is, but knowing how your new partner moves in advance good a long way towards harmonious movement

Even if they’ve never danced together before, being in the same scene and the local selection of moves would have a big impact. Or knowing the music.

Stuff like this and stuff "on the street" is how i prefer dance. Fun, playful and dancing with each other. Not like the sports dancing stuff where everything is so extremely technical and they dance more for the audience than with each other

Some of the best dance moments I've had was in Cuba, where it's just joyous

Even better (same competition): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIawVClaMgI

Was hoping someone would post this.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They have technique, but I feel zero chemistry between them

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 30

Wow. You're like, a mega incel. https://imgur.com/user/LeftRightThere/index/worst

Um… or, there is a difference between two performers connecting on the stage and two people dancing at the same time. But sure, let’s go with your judgements rather than me just stating something I saw relevant to my experience performing on stage.

Projection

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That’s because it’s a dance competition, not the bachelor.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yes, musical duets with talented musicians always sounds good but it doesn’t mean they WILL sound amazing.

If you liked this, use "Emeline Rochefeuille“ as search term on YouTube. Especially with "Macarena". You can thank me later.

That's the video (shared on here long ago) that brought the competition to my attention.
