I'm glad that Democrats are so ready to give Biden the adequate hell for his role in the ongoing genocide.

Oh wait.

I don't know whether or not TR actually said any of that. It certainly sounds like something he might say, but quote or not, it's the damned truth.

I'm sad Teddy and von Bismarck never met, would've been awesome to see how they'd interact.

"servile"

I FUCKING LOVE TEDDY ROOSEVELT. Out first son was almost a Theodore.

Most of them can not or will not read at all.

Yes, everyone

A president of a country is only a ceo he can be replaced but the people are it shareholders they have the power to kick him out the constitutions says we the people not i the president or god. I am just a European and i know that

"bully!"

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like socialism with extra steps /s

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like Don Sr whining that “mean ads” should be illegal once voting begins and the Dem commentators shouldn’t be allowed on Fox News either then going to Murdoch to demand that happens? Like that?

"please show this to Donald Trump so we know what to think about it" some magas

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's the argument made to block gun control.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

'gun control'. That's a loaded statement. Look at the statistics. We were safer during the assault weapons ban. Otherwise, I'm a firm believer that 'normal' gun control is hitting the target on the second shot

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"and will lose both!" - is the end of the quote as I knew it. Not sure if accurate.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was paraphrasing anyway...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've seen dozens of versions. It's probably apocryphal but the sentiment is true regardless of attribution or phrasing.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where was this quote when Biden was clearly incapable of functioning tho amirite? People into politics are so obnoxiously hypocritical xD can't stand a conversation with either group of sheep I swear

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 7

Ain’t that the truth.
We got which ever the why the wind blows Harris and lies/senile trump.

I have to go vote and it makes me mad just thinking about it.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Did you forget the massive surge of excitement when Biden announced he wasn't going to seek re-election, though?

None of us were super jazzed for another four years of Biden, but the other option is another four years of Donald Trump.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

It's not like any of the people saying this actually mean it, anyway, since it only applies for certain presidents.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks your Trump chappie is a tad treacherous.

Former Traitor-in-Chief. Now just a traitor.

Friendly reminder that the traditional punishment for treason is hanging by the neck until dead

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Tad"? He collaborated with enemies of the US to try to overthrow the US government. Trump, every Trump appointee, every Trump endorsee, every Trump endorser, every Senator and Representative who voted against certification or impeachment, and all GOP appointed judges, should be considered traitors by default and taken into custody until their guilt can be established.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Fuck Trump, but maybe let's fuck him using due process instead of just throwing out "innocent until proven guilty"

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Proving him guilty will take all of 5 minutes though. "You incited the violent terrorist attack and tried to overturn the election. Okay. The gallows are over there." Maybe take a whole day to introduce evidence etc. His "defence" can get a day too, for all the good it will do them. Mind you, all this should have happened on Jan 21st, 2021, and his accomplices should have been taken into custody at the same time.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I think the bigger issue is proving the judges' guilt. Being appointed, in and of itself, surely is not a crime?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're part of a terrorist network called the Republican Party and may have been part of planning a terrorist coup. Taking them into custody and trying the case is not excessive when that's the allegation. Of course while in jail they can't sit as judges and their spots on the Judiciary will have to be filled with new people. If they're found not guilty they'll have to wait for the next Republican to reappoint them to the Bench. Oops, the Republicans are all in jail. Oh well.

One of the extremely few Yank political leaders I have a great deal of respect for.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, Roosevelt was very much a White Supremacist, though with a few caveats. He overall believed that while the white race was superior in general, he felt that others could raise themselves up above their races' shortcomings as individuals to stand as equals. I don't know, it still seems wonky to me and the amount of respect I lost for the man is staggering.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Well, poo :(

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I grew up in a town named after the guy, all I heard growing up was how great a man he was and all he did for the country. Lo and behold, there was stuff they didn't mention at all, like what I said up there and his hatred for the indigenous people of this country (my people). Never have I felt such a metaphorical bitch slap. The conditioning is strong too, because even now I want to make excuses, to say it's not that bad. This and Chuck Norris have ruined male role models for me.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm sorry. It does seem like anyone who gets famous enough to be mentioned like that has some serious character flaws. Or as Malcolm Reynolds puts it, "It's my estimation that every man got a statue made of him was one kind of son of a bitch or another".

Disappointing is far too weak a word for it.

Let's be honest, few of the Western powers have placed quality politicians into power as of late. There are bright spots but....le sigh.

the guy was shot and still wanted to deliver his speech. The other guy was shot and wear a huge diaper on his right ear

2 years ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 8

Shot AT. The blood came from being tackled by Secret Service.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

He did deliver the speech after being shot in the chest. The speech was 50 minutes long. Only then did he submit to medical treatment.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Didn't just want, he did continue.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

And mocked the would-be assassin during the speech :v

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

He later said "I took a bullet to the head."

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

shot at*

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

He wasn't shot. Ears don't heal that quickly for a healthy 20y/o person. He's 78 and phenomenally unhealthy. No fucking way.

2 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 5

There is no fucking scar on his ear. There's not even a fucking scratch. It was all makeup.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 7

He got grazed by a bullet or shrapnel -- as lucky as it is possible to be. But his dr's report of a 2cm hole is obviously bullshit

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

They don't even mention it any more. I'm not super comfortable calling it a publicity stunt since a young man ended up dead, but it does feel like it was just a publicity stunt.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

That's the only reason I don't think it was totally faked. Yes, someone took a shot. But I don't think Trump was hit because of how fast they stopped talking about it. If he'd actually been injured, they NEVER would have stopped talking about it. Then again, maybe the NRA and the arms industry lobby just told them to STFU with enough bribes--I mean, donations, that they just moved on.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I mean, as horrific as it sounds, I'm kinda glad the attempted assassination of a political figure got less time in the news cycle then a school full of dead children, given how these assholes have all decided the gun is more precious than human life.

It wasn’t makeup but it wasn’t a bullet either. /a/02ELs9P

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So, you are one. It was a rhetorical question, by the way, I didn't require further proof.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm more than willing to belive it was glass shapnel from the teleprompter. That's what reasonable people said on the day of the shooting. But to say rhat it was a blood capsule and staged is where I draw the line and I don't stand for bullshit from my allies.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Immediately after the incident I heard people describing it as shrapnel from the teleprompter. I still believe that's what nicked his ear.

2 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Moment he got in the car and on his burner phone "that god damn kid! I thought you paid him to fucking miss me!?"

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The teleprompter or the bullet that hit the hydraulics on the lift, since that shot was the most direct on him. Remember: every shot is one in a million before you pull the trigger and switch from statistics to physics.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I can't dismiss that possibility, but I can't rightly agree with it without a full forensic analysis either. Its so in character for these nutjob fascists to manufacture a narrative that oh, our savior god king got injured by the evil archnemsis, even though he was totally fine the next day and there's no evidence of injury! Nevermind the blood capsule that we conveniently just carry around to make him seem like a martyr. I realize its conspiratorial, but that fits so fucking well in my view.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

My view is this: if it had been a setup, they would have picked somebody with far-left or at least left-leaning politics. The fact that the kid who shot him was a staunch conservative from a staunch conservative family really kinda confuses the "us vs them" message.
Also, I'm not sure if trump is trusting enough to let somebody take a "fake" shot at him. But I guess maybe he's narcissistic enough to think that he can survive anything. Idk. I just doubt that it was a setup. He's still an asshole

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes it was. tw: blood /a/02ELs9P

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That's really easy to fake with a blood capsule. Its also the same kind of ghoulism, vampiric lie that a fascist who wants to deport millions of people would create.
