My mum needed a phone and I found this poor thing in a draw. Potato quality but the back was roughed up and the screen was totally crunchy to the touch not to mention the copious amounts of dirt under the glass.
I've never fixed a phone in my life but how hard could it be?...
Ta da! I got a new glass screen and surround for £3.95 and then used a vinyl wrap meant for cars which was 99p. You have to heat the stuff for a moment with a lighter to stretch it over the corners without it creasing (Many finger tips were singed). Then I just cut all the little holes out with a sharp blade.
Amateur tip: use baggies or similar to store the tiny tiny screws and such that are removed when you pull your phone apart. There may be a screw missing that I didn't mention to anyone.
Shiny and new..ish. My mum's old phone shit out on her all of a sudden so I wanted to help her get back up and running while making use of some old unused tech.

nice job!

This is obviously fake, since when could a Nokia receive damage??

That cat did not appreciate being caught in a comprising position.

Wow, if it were up to me to fix my cell, I'd provably just phone it in. Kudos to a job well done op!

oh i have one of those, i never bothered fixing the shattered screen since the touch functions still worked
MoogleTaxi
Yeah, it's totally usable and a good phone. But it's possible to change the glass for like £3 and I'm tempted to try. Probably break it tbh
MrShepard
Your mom and Trevor are the only people I know who use that phone
idownvoteyouall
I did many a moon ago

Tbf It's still good for scrolling through puppy videos on Facebook and that makes up a majority of its use

Lumias are relatively serviceable in my experience. These phones which are glued together, that's just an a hole move.
MoogleTaxi
They really are. Bit flimsy but I just unscrewed pieces and gave them a little pull and I had the phone in bits in like 10minutes :)

It's the future when we have handheld computers just lying around in drawers !

It never stops blowing my mind. Always wanted one since James Bond had one that could drive his car!
