One fire for one candle...
Hello Imgur, it's apparently my cakeday so I decided I might as well post something, so I decided to share a bit of Destiny detail. This here is my Human Hunter [gunslinger subclass], who has affectionately been dubbed NX-0227.
Because reasons.
My build, you ask? Even though really you didn't because you're reading something I typed out well before you could have predicted it exists to ask the question? Well, I'm a Pulse Rifle primary, Sidearm secondary, and Super Good Advice heavy.
NX-0227 Locked and Loaded
My Spektar Kallipolis armor is perfectly suited to my needs, providing Sol Improved armor, Pulse Rifle or Sidearm ammunition capacity, as well as additional Sidearm or Machine Gun ammunition when the situation calls, and the white chroma adds a little bit of extra pop against my New Monarchy shader. The Iron Companion Mask gives me bonus super energy for Heavy weapons kills, and immediately starts shield recharging when I pick up an orb of light.
As a Gunslinger, who needs to be ready to bust out my golden gun at a moments notice, that comes in handy.
Bringing the heat!
I've been rocking the Trip Mine and Gambler's Dagger/Knife Juggler since day one, even with the semi-recent controversial* changes to how the grenade functions, and the reduction in damage on the throwing knife. On top of that, I have the Young Ahamkara's Spine, giving me that wonderful second Trip Mine charge, and a 25 second total cool down.
*controversial among Hunters, that is. The Trip Mine used to attach to targets, not just surfaces. Now we have to be a bit more clever with the use to be effective. A true nerf, as our kill ratios were far and above prior, but now we're in a bit more balance.
Sweet steady death from a distance...
When the new forges opened up, I have to admit that the sleek look and style of SUROS weaponry matched to my tastes like I couldn't have asked for, and this here is my primary pride and joy; the SUROS PDX-45 with Perfect Balance, Full Auto, and a Hand-Laid Stock. I can peg all thirty precision shots from a football field's distance with this sweetheart, and the SRO-41 gives me the added zoom I need to keep my targeting clean.
What about close quarters combat you say?
The Conviction II; a gift from Executor Hideo for my loyalty. Army of One, Cascade, and Quickdraw help make sure that I'm never caught completely off guard when the enemy closes in. Not to mention that it looks damn fine on my hip.
Closing statements...
If I'm running heavy, this is how I do it. The Super Good Advice was the first Exotic weapon I ever earned, and I'll be damned if I haven't kept it equipped nigh constantly since. Upgrading to the Year II version was a happy day, and when things get too bad for me to handle with my Conviction, I'll bring out the unrelenting wisdom of my good friend.
Speaking of the Executor...
Here I am, checking in. I exclusively rep the New Monarchy with a rank of 125, climbing every day. It's earned me quite a few rewards, I'll admit. Like a pair of sweet rides!
A long look back...
Destiny has gotten a lot of flak for failing to live up to its expectations, but I keep going back to it every chance I get. The game play has me hooked, and moments like this make the little quibbles worth it. For the unfamiliar, with the Rise of Iron DLC, there was a jumping puzzle in the new social space, and I was proud enough of making it to the top that I took the opportunity to take a screenshot of the view.
Might as well jump!
...and I managed to survive the fall! It was a hell of a thing, I'll tell you what. N-Grades know no fear.
Anyhow, that's pretty much it for my Cakeday post, so thanks for taking the time to look. For the curious, I play on Xbox One under the Gamer Tag VidAvehn, here's my Destiny Legend page:

Also I'm a part of a clan! The Coming Storm [TCS], which is named for a campaign that I used to play with some friends, and here's the group I roll with [ ha ha, D&D pun ]: https://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Forum/326585
It's been a fun year, Imgur, and I'll admit that I enjoy the time-killing I can do here when I can't play Destiny.

I climb up there, just to jump off. I found the sweet spot, and get messages asking how i didnt die. Feels good.
vidmagnuson
Totally. I expected to die, but 60 percent of tactical acumen is knowing when to take credit for being lucky.
ISuckedDickForBusFareAndWalked
Well, i mean i go up every time. There's a few spots you can hit where you never die.
fingerlickengooooood
I played destiny for months and everyone thought the game was lame so I didn't have anyone to do the raids with. Now,everyone is playing it.
vidmagnuson
Yeah the Raids can be tricky to organize, no doubt. I still haven't finished one but I'm working on getting No Time To Explain now.

Fellow hunter +1. Have you tried the new exotic sidearm? I've been loving it
vidmagnuson
The Trespasser is pretty cool, the three round burst is very effective, and it reminds me of the MagSec from Perfect Dark.

Playing as a hunter as well, I just really wished they would have flushed out the character types better in their abilities 1/2
bonkersbabytail
In the void class you can "evade" coupled with the right exotic hand gear allowing you to crouch disappear, but the special is trash 2/3
bonkersbabytail
In pvp. I wanted to feel like a predator against Dumbledore(wizard class) and the terminator(Titan class) But even know I can place 3/4
bonkersbabytail
1st or 2nd almost every match, when I am on point, I feel like my class has little to do with it. People aren't like 4/5
bonkersbabytail
"Ahh, there's a proper thief" their like "wow, he's good"" I'm a baby, whateves
vidmagnuson
Yeah, I know what you mean. Some of the classes have a little less luster than you might expect! But I have a throwing knife, so I'm happy.
