With the money you spend on power for that thing, you could probably by a new streaming box.

It's really not power hungry. It's running a 300 watt psu. It can't draw anymore than that. Probably drawing less than half of that tops.

Sounds good, but how exactly is it streaming better than an Xbox or PS4?

I guess that's a matter of opinion, I always found the stream load slow on xbone and ps4. Never liked the ui either.

Intel Core 2 Duo and AMD 4XXX are at best from 2008, not 2002, it's easy to stream 1080p with it, even on Windows.

2006. I guess 11 years, seems longer than that. I still find it impressive.
