Bombed at an open mic. I was tired, and ended up going last. Played too fast. Nerves are real. I struggle with getting attention, but I like my weird little song-eggs, and I want to put them back into the nest of the world. I think my nervous system needs about 99 more exposures. That was one. Art is embarrassing. Fucking up on stage and carrying on feels like driving a snow plow, smashing into cars, and continuing unabated. I think I need a monster truck.

As someone who’s been in the art/entertainment scene since I was a kid, the fact that you’re going to open mic nights and performing means you’re doing better than 99% of the people who claim to be performers. Bombing is a part of performing, and as shitty as it is in the moment, there will be other, much better shows (along with a few more bombs) that will keep you going. Also, that’s a badass pic.

Thanks. I was recently discarded after an 8 year relationship. That highlighted for me a need to learn how to hold and carry myself through others' rejection without rejecting myself. Time to creep out of the wallpaper and take up space.
