DIY Container pond!

I didnt take many pictures but I made a container pond!

To start, make a vegetable garden that your dog thinks is a specified digging spot.

Next, abandon your container vegetable garden idea because even your cat sleeps on the new seedlings. This results in having a large, spare container.

Next, discover some plants that can live semi-aquatically.

Then rummage your supplies. I had PVC, egg crate diffuser, and zip ties. Do some measurements to get your peieces to the right height for your container then mash these things together and cuss at them until they form something that looks like the above.

If you're keeping a betta fish and guppies like me, cut your zip ties and egg crate as smoothly as possible, then sand the points down or dob them with hot glue so the fish dont get cut.

Fish need some circulation and filtration, right?

Next, find a pond pump (mine is 110gph) and some tupperware. Drill or burn a small hole in your tupperware container and shove your pond pump in there with some media (is used sponge and lava rock). My configuration has the intake sticking out the bottom of the Tupperware and the output inside.

Check for fit, cut some holes, break some shit, make it work.

Once your media and pump fit inside the Tupperware with the lid, or as best you can make it, drill some little holes as far away from the pump as possible, this ensures water moves over the media and through the sponge on this jankass filter.

Throw that bitch together!

I potted my plants in something that was laying around that resembled a canvas planter bag. I made sure to use nonabsornant media sp they wouldnt be totally bogged all the time. In this case, it was spare aquarium gravel, which I also used to level the bottom of the container so the mess of spare parts we call our plant shelf wasnt crooked.

Here is an alocasia, a peace lilly, and an unidentified tropical plant I liked from the store.

I made mine so the bottom of my plant sack only just dipped below the water level. Then I added some pothos I had rooted already straight to the water to soften the look, add a good filtration plant, and hide the filter of jank.

Be sure you let your pond cycle before adding fish.

If you dont add fish, it's a lovely little water feature and you can also probably just plop a pond filter and some tubing in for circulation and that trickle sound.
