Cause they are. This is a display piece, with cheap tools. Biggest give away is the chisels. Notice how shiny the handles are? That's from a high gloss varnish. It makes the handles slippery, which is the last thing you want in a hand chisel. Only cheap wood handle tools have a high gloss varnish. Good ones have an oil finish on the wood or synthetic handle material.
Does it do the thing you intended for it? Are they organized? Is it relatively easy to Keep them organized? If there's anything with a 10mm label (socket, wrench/spanner, whatever) does it have extra security measures to keep it from roaming? If the answer is yes to ANY of that (bonus points for the last one)... Your project is absolutely amazing and you should be proud of it. Heck, I'm proud of you for doing it in the first place, and I'm just random internet letters!
I may also be in the process of hunting through my house trying to find some mounting tape that's missing from either of the two areas it's supposed to be in.. Someday the organizers will work.
Planes are usually produced as a number a number one being quite small and the number is seven or eight being a gigantic one use for surfacing or joining large surfaces. Planes made by Stanley 70 years ago or still available online but they are a bit pricey if you want a good model

Slotted screws are excellent for things that are likely to get caked with grime. Its a lot easier to clean out a slotted screw than a Phillips or torx. The asspain comes when people use the wrong size flathead for a flat head screw.
The Spain comes when any amount of grime is in there and it builds a ramp for the right sized driver to climb. Slotted screws are terrible in all circumstances.
You should try scraping out the debris before removing the screw. The advantage i mention is that the corner of the screwdriver is used to clean out the screw so it will fit. The appropriate screwdriver is one that fits in the screw without excess slop which is where most people end up messing up the head of the screw. They are annoying to work with but they still have a few uses.
I especially like that it looks like he has two paired block planes (near the top left, one of the first ones he puts in) presumably for dual-wielding as they're one of the few types of plane that is comfortable single handed.
Just gave a woodworking friend a Stanley router plane of my dad's. I don't have the time left or space to do any woodwork so I was happy to give it to someone who could use it. He was so happy to get a tool he didn't have but had wanted for a long time. I think it was only 60 or so years old.
I have a Shaper Origin, a portable cnc machine that can do stuff like this. Some people know how to use the technology to create art like this box, so far I have only done simple stuff for my kids. This cabinet is beautiful.
