Come on, mods. We're going through this again? I made this post (https://imgur.com/gallery/wI6iD9U) before, and now we have the same shit on the front page.
Do not fucking click the links, report as spam.

My comment got deleted for telling people not to click tiny(dot)cc links! Guess they use them!

Good, I thought I was the only one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The best thing the community can do to combat this is stop getting several dozen reposts to the front page every day.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It would also be nice if posts with edited pictures would be autocicked off the frontpage.

You are

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What then about people linking to their Instagram, Etsy, Youtube. I mean, Imgur, can't decide whether it's a bot or not. Where's the line?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Worst part is it will be a full post, then they'll cut off half of it to edit in their spam link. I keep reporting those posts myself.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The fact that the original spam post you raised awareness of back in 2015 didn't get taken down is hilarious.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Is it just me or does a lot of the comments on those posts seem botty as well? Or is that just because they edit the post.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watch this get deleted, but there's an incredible amount of incompetent mods here. Mostly normies too.

Vote Bacon Say No To SPAM

8 years ago | Likes 87 Dislikes 7

Spam is good if you can eat it. Spam is bad if it makes your computer choke.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amen brother.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Imgur mods are some of the useless community mods I’ve ever seen. And boy have I seen some fuckin useless mods.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Some of the most* useless mods.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Maybe block URL shortener like reddit does sometimes?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well the dumbest person are those who click on any kind of tinyurl

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but give credit where credit is due, the mods sure got those offensive(??) bikini pictures off imgur…..pronto!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I've seen a couple of them but im to lazy when browsing imgur so im just skipping things that require me to more then "swip right".

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You make it sound as it has ever stopped

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I havent really looked at imgur since school ended a year ago. What do those links lead to?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's almost like spammers change their tactics when they get blocked.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There is no nudity. Mods dont care.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

but... your post has a link... should I report that as spam?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's what you get for wading thru usersub.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 10

Except that post was on FP. Good try though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

These posts happen on the front page... They edit them once they reach there.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Mods don't care about the user experience. They just hate women's bodies.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 10

It’s because they’re all obese with a neckbeard a know they’ll never got a woman’s body.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

@MartynMage

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I have only ever seen these posts, by posts like this calling them out.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Last weekend the front page had like five as the top rated and everyone was complaining. All spam and no way made FP legitimately.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Then you are just not paying attention, this is not an insult it is simply the only logical conclusion. There are several a day on the FP.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Or i am (un)lucky to not find them. Or it is because i am not hardcore browsing the frontpage at all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Luck has nothing to do with it, the not hardcore browsing is yes.. but is that not the same as not paying attention.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not paying attention would be finding an exact post with spam link but overlooking it, to leave or read comments.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The 'edit on frontpage' is a flawed feature that should either be revamped or removed. It's too easy to add a spam link just like that.

8 years ago | Likes 305 Dislikes 6

Agreed. Maybe it could show the original post by default on front page, then have a button to reveal updates.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yep that's the problem.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tell them that you can get a post to FP and then edit it to be the gif and they’ll get rid of it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I’d suggest that if an edit was ncludes a list, it should be moderated before approved, or better yet, just add a ‘report spam’ button and

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

let the community do its thing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a double edge'd sword. So like the site i made for imgurians years ago, you'd share a post, people would ask you to link it but 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

allowed to share, but i'd imagine imgur don't have the modding capability for the thousands of posts reported every hour (guessing) 5/5

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

if you link it before you hit front page you can bet your ass you'll never see front page, even when commenters are asking for links 2/?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

But if you remove the ability to FP edit, people will never get what they're asking for 3/?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sure, it's spam but because imgur has a long history of community members making sites / apps / games / whatever else they're 4/?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nobody ever adds anything important anyway.

8 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 2

I added "send EE internships" and two people actually did

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And if they do, they can just add a comment

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

sEnD nUdEs

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

"Update: They didn't die!"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The best part is probably hundreds of people reported the spam you linked in your old post and the spam post is still there after years

8 years ago | Likes 1043 Dislikes 1

It's directly linkable but not visible in the gallery.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guess God's not the only one looking the other way.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's weird is that it's not listed under that OPs posts. Click the user and it's empty

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe we should report them for being mature? I mean, either a mod will see them, and realize they're spam or kneejerk remove them unseen.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But at least fruit porn usually gets removed

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Have confirmed. Still there.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

These are also spambots and need to be reported: /a/yURXFxR

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's because the mods are absolute shit, but let's not pay attention to that. Let's add sound to GIFS! Because everyone wanted that.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

That is the opposite of what i want. If I wanted that, I'd just go to youtube.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Exactly! I use this because it doesn't have videos, so I can browse it without headphones or blaring sound out the speakers.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But I get a gif of trump as the fat bastard from Austin Powers removed in 18 seconds for “sexuality/erotica”

Witnessed at 20 min!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If spam gets to stay, this should get to stay!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

27 minutes, you go hulk.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

20 minutes and its still here, wow, mods might finally be tackling spam instead of reposts of the gif

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Witnesses at 15 MINUTES!!! KeepYourNoodles did TheGlF

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

12 minutes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Witnessed!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Witnessed!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Witnessed at 2 minutes, their name was KeepYourNoodles.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

10 minutes in and still going!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

25 now

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aproximatly 30 mins after posting TheGIF, this was deleted; yet these spam posts remain after 30 months...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What was it?!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh wait... It was...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Isn't that amazing? :/

8 years ago | Likes 356 Dislikes 3

I can't click the link in your picture on the post... what happen? is broken?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I want to think they left it so that people could see the example, but...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Moderators are more occupied by finding every nipple possible than actually deleting toxic posts

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

I was hoping someone would say it in a somewhat tasteful way. Bravo for not showing the level of disdain that I would.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Almost as amazing as YouTube and Steam in quality control.

8 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 1

I don't see Steam having poor quality control.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Steam has full quality control for released games, and a lax entry into Greenlight, which is exactly the way it should be. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saying Steam has poor quality controls just means he sucks at not impulsively buying early access titles I guess 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sexual content gets removed before you can say 'but I marked it NSFW!', but spam links seem to have a special place in mods' hearts :P

8 years ago | Likes 156 Dislikes 3

Sexual content+Phishing link=?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Meh, I've reported obvious revenge porn and didn't see it deleted for a very long time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So if we flooded spam posts with The Gif....

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I like the way you think, but that would get the comments banned, not the post.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Let's do it can't ban everyone or they shut the site down

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I was thinking more French Revolution, but that works too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What if I told you that imgur sells front page space, and spam posts are actually encouraged as a source of revenue

8 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 6

Then I would answer that this is bs because what matters the most is brand and popularity when they sell to marketers. Spam hurts that.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

They already admitted to working with advertisers to do native ads (I.e. 'normal' posts) better in an interview years ago

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

sauce?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But aren't those the ones clearly marked as ads?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

According to the FTC they should be, but they definitely aren't always
