Yep, I’m very sorry but I gave up on the USA when they re-elected that vile man. I hope you can come out of this period in your history with some strength and dignity in tact.
But to be blunt I do think that somewhere along this timeline there will be the shedding of blood. It’s that bad. The longer he is there to poison the pool things are going to get worse and worse.
What are you as a people going to do if he simply refuses to leave Office and goes full retard on those opposing him?
There are no checks and balances. There is no gentleman's agreement. There are no red lines, no moral boundaries, no protocols in place to prevent this from happening again.
I think the issue is that the attitude she describes is because of the isolation of the United States. The people living in the USA have no one else to directly compare themselves against. Yes, they consume media, but the algorithm guarantees that you only consume the media that agrees with your bias! As such, you do not get the real picture of what is going on "over there". It's a fact that most Americans never even leave the town they were raised in, less another complete country.

Because to some people "the worst version of themselves " is the easier version. It doesn't require work, or introspection, or patience, or understanding. It is easier to haye, for some people, than it is to underatand. And when the only thing tethering you to morality (religion) is encouraging that worst version, what chance do we have.
I have been saying this for decades. Having lived In the administration of every president since Harry Truman and watching the depredations of the GOP in the persons of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, Jerry Falwell, and a host of others, I can confidently say that the damage has been going on for over 60 years. That's a lot of disinformation, a lot of gaslighting, a lot of lies and gerrymandering and douchebaggery. It will take generations to repair.
They're not going to get fixed as the desire to do so just isn't there, it seems. People like Mamdani, Sanders, AOC, etc., as well as, more importantly, people willing to vote for them, are the exception, not the rule.
I would argue that it has been brewing longer than that. The social rot this spewed from can be dated back to our civil war or even baked into the founding of our nation as unresolved and unreconcilable differences from before the Civil War. It only took a back-seat during the world wars with Truman being the bookend of WWII where things slowly picked back up where they started (and where you have empirical first-hand experience seeing these issues build during your lifetime).
The disease, you can see when you listen to magats speak. These people want what they know absolutely is wrong. They will do everything they can to dance around, justify, and try to avoid the impression of hypocrisy but they know what they want is selfish, hateful, and destructive. Most of all they want to hide from the truth because that is more terrifying than the lie.
The Republican Party has been Anti-Humanity since the Powell Memo. ALL of their works have been to further the goals of their main constituent - Capital - and the Legal Person who are Corporations who do that work for them.
He won because all the dems could or would provide were empty, passionless losers. But mostly because of the elitist narrative from liberals since the 80s: multiculturalism works (it never has), if you're white you're a racist; all white males are rapists; somehow wanting border control is racist (add rest of playbook here). Then Hillary: Deplorables. Then an old man won who was beyond hope and Kamala was ridiculous. Plus, on of course, social media...
He is the symptom, the disease is the Republican party. Trump will be gone eventually, but the Republican party will live on. We need to acknowledge that reality and decide what we are going to do about it. Are we going to let that disease keep festering, or are we going to do the hard work and eliminate it?
It’s not even the GOP. It’s the people. It’s a deeply ingrained cultural problem, which may take several generations to turn around. If it ever comes that far.
The U.S. was founded by a bunch of rich, white supremacist, genocidal, tax dodging rapist who owned slaves and were more than willing to throw the poor at other poor people in order to gain and keep power. Donald Trump fits in perfectly with founding fathers, and the only problem they would've had with him is that he's uncouth. This isn't a problem of just one party but a system that enables rich assholes to be their worst selves, or to put it more succinctly,
The disease is in the people and their culture. It’s in the way they vote, the way they allow themselves to be misled, their selfishness, shortsightedness and greed, their worship of false prophets who make them feel good, it’s in how they externalise their own responsibilities.
Saying it’s in the party is just externalising that which comes from within.
I moved out of the States in late 2025, the thing that makes me sick is there are so many people that follow that joker so wholeheartedly…wearing t-shirts and flags in their front yards. They aren’t fans of his economic policies, they are fans of the hate…hate of people with dark skin like me, or childless women like my wife. Knowing how many there are is chilling.
Trump inherited everything in his life. His wealth, his beliefs, his image, his success.. everything. He was simply the one to step into those shoes that had already been prepared by USA and the GOP.
In a Democracy the people gets the representation it deserves, for better or worse. And Trump truly is the American peoples president. Nobody else can truly claim to be a product of their society more than him.
The American republic has been sick since we allowed a group of unrepentant traitors back into the union rather than cleaning them all out with fire and the sword.
It turns out trying to negotiate with a cancer like the republicans only leads to the death of the host.
Yeah, when you start a country on white supremacy and genocide and all your leaders venerate the genocidal white supremacist you can't act surprised when your country turns into a genocidal white supremacist shit-hole. Trump is the truest face of America. He is America without the fiction that makes the country look pretty. What we're seeing now is what America's always been.
He may well be the Menckenesque logical end point of democracy, but our government didn’t used to be anywhere near this corrupt. Even the second and third place winners there are orders of magnitude less fucked up. While there have been horrors throughout our history, there was a certain internal consistency in the government. While the rules were biased, it largely remained close to them. These motherfuckers are just blowing everything up. It’s a very different thing.
I don't know, as quickly as he is dismantling things we can undo them. saying it's going to take extra long is something. someone who would profit from the process might say as a sales pitch.

You're right, my bad. You compared yourself to a bunch of great minds. Very arrogant for someone with an IQ of 81.
TheMoonBnuuy
And here's you being a pedophile, didn't expect to find THAT...

bamblebimble
Holy fuck, that's bad

A joke - don't remember the context of the OP. Or do you actually think this is something that might be a reality?
bamblebimble
OP was someone explaining the tariffs were making clothes, school items, etc way more expensive.
So you "joked" saying that clothing optional schools should be a thing.
Then when peopled called you out, you ignored them.
TheMoonBnuuy
That's a nice bit of unintelligible word salad you have there. Is that because of the measles?
nelllybellly1
You're a fool. I'm gonna leave it at that.
