Obama bailed out banks while leaving people to fend for themselves (fun fact, home ownership amongst black people never recovered from the 2008), he set the precedence of CEOs not being prosecutable for crimes, he deported 3 mln people, he kept prolonging the Patriot Act, he bombed sovereign countries, he maintained and expanded the surveillance and enforcement infrastructure he inherited from Bush, he thoroughly ignored all climate issues and sent cops to beat up native protesters against an oil pipeline; but hey, he knew how to smile, he could use the syllable words and he convinced you that a Republican healthcare plan was the best thing you could get. Hurray!
It's not that Liberals weren't "good enough". Liberals actively helped create all the tools that Trump needed for his fascist takeover. The difference was that in Obama's world the well-educated middle class was supposed to be a part of the protected class.
