I know, I'm sorry. I know many of you don't really care. But my SO and I just flipped over to Nickelodeon's first-ever live coverage of the super bowl... and it's hilarious! Featuring Spongebob and Patrick alongside 2 real-life pros, it's got little animation blurbs (DoodleBob is having a great time), plenty of puns ("Oprah Finfrey") and awesome banter. Pairs well with pot, we're lunchin' out. Have a great night everyone.

FP Edit: Nice!! Glad to see so many people tuned in. Hopefully it got enough traction for it to happen again next year. Cheers, y'all!

My favorite part was when Larry the Lobster was reporting live from the field in the second half.... he says, "There's a walrus down here!" and Spongebob goes, "That's not a walrus, that's Andy Reid!". Hah.

I don't ever wanna watch another Super Bowl any other way. It was SOOO MUCH FUN! We switch it "for the kids" (it was me, I'm one of the kids), and IT WAS FANTASTIC! The real commentary + animation, jokes, & quips made everything bearable.

Okay, okay, but did they finally, FINALLY make good on their promise to deliver us a real Bubble Bowl half-time show?

Tom Kenny as SpongeBob made a Leo DiCaprio 25 joke lmaoooo

Dang, if this was a thing when I was a kid, and if we had cable, I might enjoy football today.

“Lunchin out”? Are you from DMV?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember the Thanksgiving broadcast being super awesome too.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, I should have watched that

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It literally made the game watchable so funny

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't know people said "Lit". lol.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Still remember the simulcast football game where they forgot to put the Nick side on a tape delay so an unbleeped F managed to get through.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well now I wish I actually watched the game... on nickelodeon.

"Olivia Codrigo", "Dua Flipa", "Megan thee Sturgeon"

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

They did Megan so dirty with her fish-a-like but I was dying laughing. Nick should have their alternative for other big games too

Plankton chumming all over the crowd was a bit awkward

FIRMLY GRASP IT!!

How did I not know about this. FUCK!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I switched back n forth. (I'm not a fan of either SB) - Had different yardage markers, fish-net behind the goal posts, endzone became slime zone ... any others? - didn't see commercials on Nick

I hope it is an option on my NFL Replay!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes!! I turned that on by mistake and left it on! LOL

I wanna touch the owl.

Wife and I tried to get everyone to watch that version but couldn't get everyone on board.

I don't have subscriptions to CBS or other sports sources, and I don't usually watch sports, but I have nickelodeon and I liked what they did with it!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, my Dad and I flipped over to it for a while, it was pretty hilarious

Most pathetic bowl game coverage ever.

are you mad they're making fun of your very important sportsball game?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

From this and your other comments you seem like such a miserable person.

I have a 12yo son who's on the autism spectrum. Keeps to himself and doesn't give two craps about sports. He and I watched this entire game together. It helped that he loves Taylor Swift. He had no idea, and I didn't tell him, that she would be shown 20 times. They first showed her and it took him a few seconds to recognize her. He turned to me and said "is that Taylor Swift?!?". Thank you Nick...it meant a lot to me.

That is so cool!! I love that you guys got to share that together.

But did they play "Sweet Victory"?

Opening and ending song.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes.

I hope there's a complete recording of it somewhere cause I totally missed it.

Here are some highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuYNuxBiEKw and I link to this primarily because no one acknowledged Spongebob's killer joke at 4:10.

Thanks!

Dude my favorite was near the end of the regular play when Larry the Lobster was down on the field and said, "Whoa, there's a walrus down here!" and without missing a beat, Spongebob said, "That's not a walrus, it's Andy Reid!" Lmaoo

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My son said,'That's not a walrus...it's the Lorax!'.

I didn’t even know Nickelodeon was still on. Also, fun fact, Nickelodeon was the name for movie theaters back when seeing a movie used to cost a nickel

2 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 2

I'm still not used to it; I used to go to the nickelodeon after my shift at the factory, I'd grab a beer and relax watching whatever was running. This was before the Great War started, eventually I was drafted and sent to the trenches.

It's the best!

Rules Analyst Dora too!

The oversight that she wouldn't need her helmet or suit in this instance bothers me.

2 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 2

I'm glad someone else said it because otherwise I was going to have to.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean, *Looks out at air quality of earth, plus her being at a Covid super spreader event* she's probably safer in there...

2 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 2

They're in Bikini Bottom. She definitely needs her helmet.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Shit you're right

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

You had to watch it. They are in Bikini Bottom. Her invention that made TVs bigger malfunctioned and pulled the stadium into BB.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This happens in the movie/show and it bothers me

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Maybe she's standing in front of a green screen in Bikini Bottom and not on location.

Hella underrated. They know ball and are legit great at describing the game. Better prepared than Romo this game

2 years ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 7

Man, Romo is such a shitty announcer. And he kept saying stuff like “that’s the first time that’s happened in the Super Bowl! Since four years ago when the same thing happened.”

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Look I love this Nick coverage! But no reason to drag Romo his instant analysis is otherworldly

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

I liked year 1 Romo but he’s not been great these playoffs. He doesn’t seem to do enough homework so he doesn’t always know which players are which. In this game he called Nick Bosa Joey. He’s also a bit prone to starting sentences without knowing how he plans to end them.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Romo sounds like he's absolutely hammered every game. Can't believe they let him do the Super Bowl.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 8

Haha thank you. It also doesn't sound like roofing nails in an industrial blender. On a chalkboard.

2 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

Plus they know which Bosa is playing in the game!

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

If you took a shot every time he referenced leverage without explaining what the hell that means, you'd be dead. That's what made Madden great. He treated every game he announced like it was someone's first time watching football.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We were just shouting “leverage” on every play, and he would echo us on almost every play. #Leverage is the word of the Swift Bowl.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was unbearable in that game. As soon as the dude got paid, he became a parody of himself.
