Fyi you can turn a chlorine pool into a copper pool and get the same effect. You'll basically make a shape with copper pipe bends, lots of how to on it, amazed people still use chlorine
No, otters aren't really good at pets, or so I was always told. They're one of my absolute favorite animals, but they're just a tad too wild usually to be a decent pet. This one seems pretty tame, but who knows what state it'll be in in a few years.
Otters have wicked claws and very sharp teeth. They’re bitey and can do serious damage to a human, especially once full grown. They have specialized dietary needs, require a large water environment, and are highly intelligent and social animals that require lots of time, exercise and enrichment. Just adopt a puppy.

You think she is teaching an otter to swim? It is quite the opposite, they can swim from birth. You sign up for Otter simming class!

Two questions really, is it any good idea to have an otter as a pet? Also, isn't normal pools full or chlorine?

Not always; my dad has a pool in a Dallas suburb that uses muriatic acid to 'shock' the water instead of constant chlorine.
He does not have a pet otter, though, so what may be safe for humans and dogs could be harmful ... otter-wise.
(I'm not sorry.)

I'm pretty sure that otter already knows how to swim.
SinisterSlaw
Most mammals know how to swim by instinct.... sep humans.
servingmytimeinusersub
Otters are taught by their parents.
SinisterSlaw
By leading them into the water, yes. The swimming part is instinctual.
