So I just posted this as a response to someone having a bad day, but then I got to thinking, and my existential dread set in.

Assuming you dont fear your own death, after what event is this no longer true? What event is the worst thing that is likely to ever happen to you? When your parents die, loosing a child, loosing a spouse?

What do you guys think?

Gosh I sure hate it when people loose their children on each other. Modern day gladiators if you ask me.

When you stop caring.

Spouse death or a child death is much more likely to be the worst day in your life. Parents die and you can usually plan for it.

As an addendum, every situation is unique. This is only a cultural average.

Death of anyone you care about but yourself.

I can't imagine worse than losing a child. Parents and even spouses going before you is normal; but not a child.

Losing a child because you were too lazy/busy/drunk to take care of them.

Or any other reason where you can legitimately blame yourself, yeah.

Are you just fishing for torture porn? Because anything that's "the worst" will be seriously fucked up.

Not really no, I didnt even consider physical pain... Please dont go there :|

Torture doesn't have to be physical. Your best friend could drug you, tie you up, and then make you watch as he raped your wife. See? Fucked

Well, I was thinking more n the lines of "normal" things... And now I am sorry I even brought it up.
