Obligatory Cakeday post

What I'm working on today, Skyrim steel dagger! As is tradition, (un)finished item first.

The goal so you say, obviously mine is certainly different. Uhhh my smithing skill is probably at 20 TBH...

How it started, torch cut out of some 3/8 plate.

All I can say about how it got to this stage was a LOT of grinding.

The ridge is very annoying!

Slightly cleaned up.

ENGRAVING! never done this before and was astounded when I grabbed this broken file and slapped a offhand edge on it and it pulled up a chip of steel! Obviously I have LOTS to learn about engraving. What can I say, I'm a welder, not an engraver.

I think it does look pretty okay tho ?

The current state, started on the opposite side engraving. Lots of Sanding and a whole handle to go still!
