Constructive criticism please
I pretty much never draw. Anyone got tips on how to improve shading and drawing faraway trees and such?
Also, what could I do better in this quick sketch? Shading is shit, I know.

Deeper shadows, starker contrasts.

sure detail is very important the more detail you add the better it's gonna look try and draw everything you see/imagine
dillpicklez
sizing is also important if a rock is too big it'll leave less room for mountains then you're stuck trying to squeeze them in and it warps
dillpicklez
oh also shading it always has to make sense for the sun/light to be making the shadows you dont want shadows that conflict with eachother
MrBurd
I have no idea how to determine in what level of detail I should draw; drawing all the small pebbles obviously is way too tedious, (1/?)
MrBurd
but that also means I can't get any depth; for instance, see the island on the right and compare that to the original image. (2/2)

Why not Google some tutorials?
MrBurd
Tutorials can't tell me what I did wrong and what I should improve :c

If you follow a tutorial you would learn techniques and improve
