I usually go mushroom hunting (with a camera) this time of year. But it’s so dry in northern Wisconsin that I have only seen two so far this year.

#2 Turkey tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor), powerful medicinal mushroom with documented anticarcinogenic effect. Also gorgeous up close. Comes in a bunch of colors (hence the Latin name), surface is like velvet.
