Mr. Do Nothing Conspiracy Influencer should not be director of the FBI. This was a total fool's errand. How the Republican Party could do this... weaken America's premiere law enforcement arm like this... shows that they are most definitely Trump before country. Patel will eventually lose this job and then be pushing people to call him "former FBI director" in every publicity moment for the rest of his life.

If a director of organisation is made acting director of another but does that acting role by just not doing it then for sure he should lose both. Sure you would expect him to half arse the two jobs for a bit, but to neglect one completely is just incompetence

Most of these people have insane notions of what goes on in government amplified by incidents that blow up in right-wing media circles like that whole 'Obama visit to India costs $200 million a day' thing years ago.
He probably thought it was a normal sort of request (or pushing the limit) rather than being batshit insane.
