Used my furnace as an improvised forge to create the rings for the new shanks.
Working on one for the A20 too
Got the shank handle "welded" on, plus a couple of rake tines for extra support during pours

Fits my new B12's too, thanks to the rake tines
And my 10yo B12 too, bonus!
They're all the same nominal size, but the A12 in the middle has very different dimensions and wall thickness
Much better than the old shank for the B12, which was always getting in the way due to its absurd thickness
The A12 would fall right through the old shank!

Foundry work isn't work at all, it's FUN (unless you have to do it for a living, perhaps). Melting metal and pouring into a mold you made is viscerally satisfying. Did it for a hobby for about two decades.

Totally agree! Or at least it's the kind of hard work that's fun and satisfying to do. Not my day job, but it is a bit of a side hustle at this point as well as a hobby now. This is year 13 for me.
