I like the composition of the first one but it needs more contrast to pop out, especially in the sand. The fog in the second one (1/2)

(2/2) is cool but overall it's kind of dull and boring, the sky and lighting are just too flat.

The first one needs to be re-cropped IMHO. The emptiness in the center of the picture means your eye goes to the edges and wanders.
