Men's fashion guide

Another tip for you gentlemen of imgur who wants to appear sharp. Your shoes should compliment your suit colour. Here's the chart that I found to help you to dress accordingly. No, black suit is NEVER good with COLOURED SHOES except for black.

Important NOTE: The colour of your BELT should COMPLIMENT (within the colour range/should almost be the same) YOUR SHOES' colour. Keep that in mind!!

I apologize if I posted this on the wrong topic section.
Have fun! :)

Guide for most men: Match your only suit with your only dress shoes. Take suit to cleaners & shine shoes before wearing. Pretend both fit.

My husband wears black combat boots. Always. He has a pair of sandals around somewhere but has only ever worn them like twice.

So that's why she said brown shoes don't match my black suite. Doing it all wrong.

Complement*

To be honest, complement isn't the word to use. "Coordinate with" probs better.

I'll just continue wearing all black with rolled up sleeves. Maybe a red tie if I'm feeling reddish.

Too bad I'm colorblind

Didn't your parents teach you how to dress?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some do and some don't. As far as my parents go, they don't teach me technical stuff.

TL;DR buy three pairs of shoes: Black, brown and light brown. Don't skimp and they will last you forever.

What about 3 piece blue pinstripe?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Black metallic shoes --> look at the shoes with the charcoal suit. Blue pinstripe will go very well with that shoe colour. Good luck!

Cool, cool. I live in a farm town. When would I use this info?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is not for everyone I guess.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always recommend to our new interns to invest in a good pair of brown dress shoes; they match any suit except black.

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Can't agree more!

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I do not think they match with gray. No, sir.

They don't.

Thanks for the proof! That is the best I've ever seen, and it still looks horrible. Looks like he forgot to rent shoes for a wedding.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was skeptical, but seeing enough dudes wearing it on the Street gave me confidence to try; but nothing wrong with black shoes either.

*wear suits from top row only. (Middle and bottom rows for 60's, 70's theme parties)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Light brown shoes and a matching belt will work with black dress pants. They just need to contrast.

2) Add a watch with a brown band. Ties everything together.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every time I see this post I want to shout this! Black slacks with cognac shoes, matching belt and watch/bracelet look A+ in casual settings

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I've seen the Navy color but Army color is missing..

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Umm, whar burgundy/oxblood? Works with everything but a black suit.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm what about slate tweed?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Should be good with dark/light brown!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So as long as they're brown you'll be ok? Or black, black works too.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hovv the fuck does a suit make u a gentle man :D

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't. Gentleman is someone who is very proper and well-mannered (in short). Suit just complements how you look. It adds a bonus point.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who doesn't want a man who is a "gentleman" with a good sense of fashion? It's a bonus.
