Does anyone believe the economy is doing great right now?

Since the great, "fair market value adjustment" of 2022 - 2023, when all of our landlords decided to work together to make us all homeless, things have not been good. At least for me. When I see the news pushing that the economy is doing great, who are they talking about? Great for the top 10%?

I have three friends who had been out of work for between 6 and 18 months (were in technical jobs in the mortgage industry when it shit the bed) that got jobs in the last couple weeks paying over $100k a year each. Gas and food prices have stabilized. Healthcare and housing still need to get fixed, though.

The economy has mostly reset itself after the pandemic. However, the inflation resulting from various factors has not. Prices keep climbing just because they can, with no legitimate reason.

The system isn't broken. It still works for those who profit from it.

Those who have money are doing well. It’s always the same

I think so, I am in construction, have landed 4 jobs, have 15 people working and will be hiring more, am paying them $32 Hr and up...

I'm in the wrong field. Also, good for you and your team. I'm happy someone's making it out there.

The economy has very little to do with the wellbeing of workers without strong unions.

I'm honestly doing better than any point in my life. Getting better as gas and food prices drop. Of course I bought a house in 2020. I saw the writing on the wall for rent prices. Admittedly very fortunate for me. Not exactly a mansion but the cost savings are ridiculous.

I knocked over $200 a month in rent by buying a house 6 years ago. Couldn't buy it now with price of housing and interest rates

I know, it's like landlords saw the loophole to their price gouging plan and started buying up private properties because of it.

You got a LOT of people that have far better pay than before + you got proper wage jumps, and 2/3rd of your country swapped jobs in the past few years to better paid jobs. Practically everybody have more money on their hand currently. Unsurprisingly the super rich also have more but if you have less then you're one of the few to be fair

Don’t take it personally though. It’s all luck.

Aye. But it really still is a good time to swap jobs currently if the current pay isn't good enough
