My new favorite AI scam is how Microsoft is changing basic control schemes so bury the same commands somewhere new so you don't know how to do it and are tricked into asking copilot "How do I..." and it tells you and it's just the same thing moved under a different submenu. That way they can pump up those numbers on utilization. Pisses me off.

The organization I work for has elected not to upgrade our windows license. We decided this because the hardware requirements were going to force upgrades to support an AI we don’t want. I refuse to believe we are special. I imagine a lot of organizations are making this decision. Microsoft has to have felt this. Their profit model for this has to be hugely disrupted.

They’ve obviously invested heavily in their AI. Enough so that they had to attempt to strong arm their entire customer base in hardware upgrades. Windows may not be hemorrhaging enough, but this has to undermine their goals with their AI.
