Spooky indeed

I personally don't understand what you are even celebrating Halloween for or why. And grateful it isn't big in Australia.

Youre breaking their hearts, what ever you do don't tell them what we do for thanksgiving, or 4th of July

Clearly, that's an inaccurate depiction. This is more like it:

You sneaky S.O.A.B. +1

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As an Australian, I think it's roughly 1/6 people like Halloween. I'm the 5/6 sorry Americans

Want to get spooked in australia? Just take a walk in nature.

People saying "it's not our holiday" haven't realised that internet made EVERYTHING global even Halloween. Stop being boring put a mask on

Same in South Africa. My friend and I have been chased away several times from houses. One man even threatened to unleash his dogs!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We don't hate it we just don't do it. I've waited all night for a total of zero knocks at the door. All the more chocolate for me....

This comment section is dreadful. Halloween has never been an "American" holiday. Please do research before you claim ignorant shit.

There's a growing number of us who celebrate. Sounds like you need new friends.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

I wasn't aware that you exclusively trick or treated at your friends houses....

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Fuck Halloween. Not our holiday, we're sure as hell not going to shell out money on useless decorations and giving kids diabetes.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 11

As an American, I approve of this message. "All Hallow's Eve" should be re-named "All whores dress skanky and do Jagerbombs Eve". Stupid.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's the best holiday. There's literally nothing better than spooky decorations and candy everywhere. Useless? Diabetes? You sound boring AF

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

For you maybe. In Australia it just seems so forced. It was necer part of our culture, so why celebrate it?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually agree with you. Heck there's so many holidays here to spend money on already, and the supermarkets just use it to sell crap..

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

IDK, I love Halloween way more than Christmas, Easter, New Years or any other holiday..

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about giving kids vegemite disguised as chocolate?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hmm, possible, but Aussie kids would like it enough to come back :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I was just on the verge of getting my Visa. Might reconsider.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

good you're not welcome here

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

Bang. Rightly told off...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure I celebrate, I dressed as Clint Eastwood from Gran Torino. I told all the kids who showed up to get the fuck of my lawn

Damn zipperheads.

Spooks.

Rubbish, we live in Melbourne and we did it tonight. There were heaps of kids out. You just have to find where the streets doing it are

10 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 5

I know someone kinda close to Melbourne

My Daughter is nearly two, a guy answered the door in a Scream mask. Her reaction was cute and horrifying.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So just like America?!

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Just not nearly as common. It's generally the richer areas/suburbs that do it here.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a friend in eastern Germany atm and he said they celebrate more there than where he is from in Arkansas.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Americans reaction when they find out other countries don't celebrate their holidays:

10 years ago | Likes 291 Dislikes 11

.... It's not American, moron. At least do some research. We just celebrate it because it's fun, which you obviously hate.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

"I was Joan of Arc in my former life" - i fucking love the nightclub scene in that movie

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sort of. It's not like we expect fireworks on the 4th of July. It's more that Halloween is neither nationalistic or religious (modern sense)

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

In Dubai I had some kids come to my door 4 days ago. I didn't have any candy. None tonight, though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Halloween Read the section on Australia and New Zealand. We see it as an American Holiday.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"What? There are countries where they don't eat marshmallows and peanut butter?"

10 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Halloween is Scottish though

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I'm gonna be that guy and point out Halloween was not started in America. It has roots in Celtic provinces as a pagan celebration :)

OĆche Shamhna shona duit!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The catholics also seemed to know it as well.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because they took it from the Pagans... Mostly every holiday is originally pagan holidays.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There are similar themed celebrations. Point is more in a way US celebrate it (trick or treating, pumpkins, dressing up and so on).

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

All of those things except pumpkins come from the Scottish tradition of Halloween. Trick or treating is called "guising" here

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Are people down voting you because they don't have a history longer than 200 years?
