Alas! Cobalt Blue, we hardly knew you,
Yet you brought such joy to the ladies.
So quiet, so clean, and so super keen,
It’s a shame you’re now swimming in Hades.
Because we know, it’s time to let go,
Though your death has caused us much strain,
For we loved you, our sweet Cobalt Blue,
But it’s time you went down the drain.
It's true! Alas, alack, fare thee well little betta fishie! Cobalt Blue, the fish one of the ladies I look after has done a stellar job of taking care of for over a year now, has gone on to that great big aquarium in the sky. I know I'm a derp but I whipped up this poem to try to cheer the ladies up. They were all very sad about his passing but also understood that it's part of life. The rhymes(or possibly more the goofy voices I used while reciting them) did manage to get a couple giggles and seem to lift their spirits a bit.
A plan to visit the not-so-local-but-totally-nifty fish store a few towns over is in the works because once the grieving period has passed, we'll be seeking out a Cobalt Blue 2.0 or whatever other color the group decide on.
