They want women to be subservient.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/25/opinion/gender-sexual-revolution-men-women.html

What is wrong with consequence-free sex? So repressed…

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The NYT was always fairly centrist/right wing, but they were at least socially liberal. Now they're done. They're just laundering fascism.

What's funny is that my parents gave me somewhat similar advice, but from a different angle "You should behave as though birth control could fail at any time, after all it failed with you and your two sisters. We were using birth control each time we got pregnant."

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yep, everyone who's having sex should work under this assumption. If the woman's ok with having an abortion, then do what you want, I guess. But personally I don't want to have to have an abortion (I would, if I got pregnant now), so we use two forms of BC to protect me from having to do that. Anyone who doesn't want an accidental pregnancy should insist on the same, whether they're male or female.

What the hell is wrong with consequence free sex?

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It removes the ability to use the burden of children/family as a means of social control over people, women in particular. This is the equivalent of asking what's wrong with black people using the same bathrooms as white people- inconvenience so there's something to endlessly scrutinize and police behavior over is the point.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So, more teenage pregnancies is what Repugnicants want? That does not surprise me in the least. Always keep women oppressed, take away their sexual freedom and career prospects by burdening them with unintended pregnancies if they renounce christo-fascist values.
These people need to be deplatformed, they are the same ones hostile to immigrant minorities and now calling for enslavement of half our domestic population

1 month ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Yes. Fox has had people on calling for an increase in teen pregnancies. RFK Jr. has been talking about teenage sperm counts. It's not even coded, they are explicitly for teenage pregnancies.

Here comes the Handmaid's Tale

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In her scenario, who are the men sleeping with? Is it only other men? there's still risk there.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You know what, sure. Women should just stop having sex with men forever. Fuck knows absolutely every study and scrap of data shows that women lead both longer and happier lives the less they interact with or are in relationships with men. The worst part is I didn't even need to talk about how ugly that would get for women for you to start thinking it just by reading those sentences.

I think we should behave as if billionaires who buy newspapers should be launched to the moon

1 month ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

With some slightly out of order staging for the rocket.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nah man, the direction of the sun. don't want to litter the moon.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We should definitely behave like that!
Probably more cost effective and environmentally friendly to send them down the mariana trench in a pringles can.

@OP, you have my greatest respect. How you can find/post all this bullshit hour after hour, day after day, without losing your goddamn mind is completely beyond me. It must be exhausting

And, of course, Viagra (and the rest) should never be used, because there might be consequences the men have to pay for.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The actual fuck.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am confused. Julie and Kathleen are calling the NYT out on their bullshit, correct? I dont want to look up the article as I assume it is behind a pay wall

1 month ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I think it's free. It's free for me anyway. I added the link to the post

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's an opinion article. Literally anyone can submit those to the newspaper.

Iirc the Opinion articles are always free but the rest aren't. Guess which ones say the most conservative and MAGA shit...

That's when you give religious fundamentalists even a hint of power.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Amazing how the circle always seems to land at women's feet to these fucked up people. Meanwhile men get consequence free sex and get to blame women for unwanted pregnancies. FFS when will these dumb bitches realise that by doing the misogynists fucked up bidding they only condemn all women.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, the quiet part out loud - they want consequences for women.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The new sexual revolution uniforms just came in:

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NYT hasn't been a truly respectable paper for a long while now, but their name still means something to a lot of people, that's part of the issue..

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ffs can we just be left alone. Why are all these creeps interested in my sexual life? Creeps, all of them.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well of course the Epstein class wants more babies.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is there something wrong with consequence free sex? Or is this just good, old fashioned, bible thumping bullshit again! Fucking hypocrites.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Opinion | Is it time for the writer of this article to go and fuck themselves?

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This fucking asshole is who's being it. And wouldn't you know he? He's a devout Catholic convert.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why must something pleasurable (in most cases) need consequences....? Confused about it.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They would then struggle to explain what's wrong with sex outside marriage without involving imaginary concepts

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

NYTimes sucks, but this is an opinion piece.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

100 percent. Publications like the Times will often publish absurd opinion pieces because letting someone write out their absurd ideas leads to necessary clarity; an op-ed is not an endorsement of a view, and often the goal of publishing it is to make a mockery of it.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know to blame Manifest destiny, the church, the education system but holy shit man something went wrong a VERY long time ago in this culture and it turned so many "men" into just... feeble fucking children, no thats an insult to children. They're so fucking weak, so... I won't evey say insecure. Its absurd, its irrational its just so fucking strange. They're women. Calm down you fucking shitbirds.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

It's the church. It's *always* christianity. Literally nearly every evil in the western world for the last 500-1000 years is traceable whether directly or indirectly to christianity, and certainly every single horrible thing about the present state of our country.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Except in all the places where Christianity isn't a dominant power and yet women's sexual agency is still denied. Imgur atheists like you are fucking cowards, desperately blaming all the worlds ills on Christianity to get out of having to fight systemic patriarchy and own up to your own role in a misogynistic culture. You aren't opposing religious authority. You are running from responsibility to combat other social ills.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

??? bruh I'm a lesbian, swing and a miss bud. Also I did specify "western" world, and most of the places in the west where it's not christianity, it's another flavor of abrahamic religion. *Also* guess why western cultures are nearly uniformly patriarchal (spoiler, it's the church). There's a fuckload of shit wrong today, and christianity rightfully gets the blame for how we got here, which is of critical importance in fixing things if we don't want to end up back here again.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Almost every culture that is or has ever been is patriarchal. Abrahamic religions (a grouping created by white supremacists to make Christianity seem older) are not the source of misogyny. And it's the persistent refusal of society to recognize misogyny as a bad thing that needs to be stopped that got us here. Churches survive by affirming people's existing biases; less sexism lowers church attendance, but less Christianity does not lower misogyny. MRA's grew out of movement athiesm, after all.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, I know I'm butting in here, but your argument doesn't seem valid to me. What does the "western" world have anything to do with it? The "eastern" world isn't dominated by abrahamic religions and has the exact same flavor of patriarchy. That completely disproves your point. Religion is a tool and nothing more. Religion didn't create the patriarchy. It's merely a tool used to enforce it. When that doesn't work they simply find another form of fascism to enforce it.

"Consequence-free sex". They're not even hiding that they're on the side of the forced birthers anymore.

1 month ago | Likes 212 Dislikes 2

I kinda imagine that these people hold that there is a terrible and cruel god. And that the suffering of others is reassuring evidence that their god is still present in this world.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a Freudian slip that majority of people would like to enjoy sex and those who are so guilt ridden about it want to ruin it for others. Hmm…. HMM….

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They're working their way to "consent-free sex", aren't they?

The women of the GOP, they yearn for oppression and subjugation.

1 month ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

And note how the "consequences" only fall on one side of the sexual encounter, while the other is encouraged to have as much sex as they can with as many women as they can.

1 month ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 1

The same mindset is expressed with the old shitty analogue of locks and keys.

Is that still going around?
I first heard it decades ago from some MRMs and found it to be ludicrous bullshit then.
The pencil sharpener response to it you linked in another comment was new to me, though. Good one.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you post a non-Tumblr link? Every time I click on it, it removes the post and won't let me read it, even when logged in.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, I have no idea why Tumblr does that for you, it doesn't for me — I have no account and use private browsing on Firefox.
It's not hard to find counter-arguments to the silly analogy, this one is from Reddit: "A pencil sharpener can whither away any pencil. A pencil that goes into many sharpeners will eventually be worthless. A sharpener doesn’t lose its value by consuming the pencil."

TBF All analogies break down at some level, like if you use a pencil sharpener enough, it gets dull and doesn't work as good. I think the bigger take away is that people should be able to act as they please without judgement, not trying to flip the script on an analogy.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I managed to copy and paste the post by stopping the page from loading and hiding the post. But yeah they're bad analogies all-round. Flat out hypocrisy that women are supposed to remain pure and virgin but men are supposed to sleep around.

"Depressed people in general should behave as though Zoloft doesn't exist."
"ADHD people in general should behave as though Adderall doesn't exist"
"People without legs should behave in general as though wheelchairs don't exist."

... I have to ask. Who is this for. They dont believe in any of that either

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People with jobs should act as if jobs don't currently exist...oh wait.. that's an actual concern right now, too

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's ridiculous... Maybe men should just act like condoms don't exist and don't have sex. Also birth control pills can be used for other things than just sex. I'm asexual and use them for a hormone imbalance I have. Medicines can be used for multiple things.

1 month ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Men should just act like viagra doesn't exist. Don't have sex ever again.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

If the only way they can enjoy sex is with a medically induced stiffy, they have my pity, for several reasons.
Their partners more so.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As someone who has ADHD and only taking meds for the last year (it went undiagnosed for over 3 decades) the consequences are quite fucking dire. It appeared as depression, tried SSRIs and shit, almost killed myself a few times, checked myself into a looney bin. Adderall has helped me GREATLY, but supply chain issues have made it where I go without sometimes for weeks. Its hard to get work done, its more difficult to function. I have no withdrawal symptoms, its just that when you know what it >

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Feels like to function like a semi normal fucking human for the first time in almost 40 fucking years, not only does every day feel infinitely harder, but the depression comes back and is complicated by knowing "I COULD function better if my fucking brain would do the goddamn thing" but it wont. So that shit take opinion from NYT can be neatly folded and forcible shoved up their fucking ass. I'll stick my foot up there and wear em like a boot

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not even that it's "People with vaginas should not sleep around, but men can sleep around all they want." That's all it is. Men trying to keep women down.
